This thread shows promise and could turn out to be rather good, I'll put the tea on.

Come on then Pratty, explain your version of the difference between an Oath and a Declaration. We all wait with bated breath.
It's not that difficult, Alex.

I am sure a man of your resources, and time on his hands, will have no problem sorting it out for himself.
You know the difference, way back in the 1970's I took an 'oath' to serve Queen and Country before I put on the green kit. That oath was not cancelled when 20 odd years later I handed back my green kit.
Nor was my oath to comply with the Official Secrets Act that I had to sign for a couple of adventures during my time.
A declaration is what a scumbag politician makes to win a limited time feeding in the trough for personal gain. HRM made a promise in an OATH to the UK and all nations in the Commonwealth that she would never abandon them and what it stood for.
Tell me, why is the fairly uninhibited islands not a Republic given they have had votes on the subject for many many years.

What would he say and why after just 8 years (once in a generation? 2014) would the halfwits ask for another. Nippy knows she has a losing hand.
As for slippery Salmond supporting Russia for a handful of silver, even I was shocked at how low these parasites would go.

He lived in Canada and the USA for most of his life. Why should anyone take the slightest bit of notice of what actors say. They live in a fantasy land and have people bowing down to their every word to keep their jobs. A bit like politicians.

Saints alive, you're on fire today, Alex, there's a bit of kicking arse and taking names going on here.

Dislike immensely little nobodies who make dishonorable comments about HRH from the safety of their keyboards.

Yes, I understand why it grips your 5h!t when people disrespect the Queen on her birthday, although some of the other Royals are madder than a box of frogs.

I think you will find Alex that most people (even those on here) have nothing but total respect for HM as a person.

Even the queen has a sense of humour, she regularly laughs at jokes about her or her family ....... see any Royal Variety Show from the last 40 odd years. Perhaps you would just like to get all comics banned from the media

Agree Ernie.
I really dont see the point of Charles and his adulteress wife being given the crown. Much better William and his team get in and a young family with modern ideas take over the Throne.
In saying that, Charles has become quite a eloquent speakers on all things to do with saving the world. Remember 40 years ago we all thought he was a bit of a loony. The future will take care of its self. Nobody can deny the contribution from HRH over 70 years.

Of course, never a good idea to get rid of the British monarchy in Blighty; look what happened to Russia and France. I'd rather have old Big Ears bimbling about the garden with his thumb up his bum and his brain in neutral than Boris as the President. Imagine that.

Was not around in the last century fool. Why would you worry about historical, unsubstantiated rumours. How would you react if someone said your Great Granny had an affair with your next door neibour and you are a result of it.

I like charlie, he should be given a chance . apparently he wants to change Buckingham palace into museum , just keeping apartments there for royal occasions. I'm not really a royalist but on the other hand they don't do me any harm. They have no power as heads of state. Look at the other heads of state, Putin ,trump, xi ping, Kim jong ping pong, heads of states should not have any real power but should been seen as a cultural icon, someone that represents what your country aspires too. So anyway happy birthday lillibet :D

I'd be on it like a shot ........ it would potentially add a whole new branch to the family tree ..... We have already worked out that my Gt Gt Grandad's third wife was never married to him despite them having 8 children together.
Why would that be a "worry" to anyone .... it needs to be recorded , that's life, why would you try to brush it under the carpet or hide it?
It's not unsubstantiated rumours that Eddie VII and Alice Keppel had a12 year affair its well documented
