Australian Election
Re: Australian Election
Kinda significant that TT has been on this site while several posters have poo-pooed his statement, not a word defending his outrageous claim. Posting in the wee hours while Mau is never a great option.

It's a laugh at the time. It doesn't feel so cool the next day.

Re: Australian Election
So the numerous trips fully or partially paid by the Chinese for liberal pollies has never happened. China Matters was at the time largely funded by the Australian government. Re: Australian Election
If you want to make comments on Australian politics, do your own research or keep posting rubbish like this. Most of your posts on this subject are simply troll-like posting, but not very clever. The funding for China Matters by the Australian government has been ongoing for years, only stopped in the 2020 federal budget.pepesgrill wrote: ↑April 26, 2022, 7:54 amyour sources ? or just making stuff up again?

I find him jolly good fun. I'm envious pepesgrill nor Giggle are currently posting on New Zealand. Australian politics appears to be in much better shape than American politics.

Thanks Barney. I knew Howard from before. Who can forget his long, honorable service and grudging unwillingness to say sorry for past transgressions against the indigenous? But this was the first time I'd seen him labeled "little Johnny"Barney wrote: ↑April 25, 2022, 10:53 pmSince you profess not to know who he is.tamada wrote:Fair shakes but who was little Johnny?

in political chit chat so that's what tripped me up. Seems like he gets trotted out at election times to appeal to some voters.

You must enjoy the absurd 55.
If he was a little bit wittier I suppose it would be OK. The poor guy talks about voting for 'Scotty from marketing' without realising that the statement in itself mocks Morrison.

Re: Australian Election
It would be interesting for those who are so reviled by the current conservative government in Australia, attempt to negate the role of Chinese communist party influence in the Labour Party. Dastyari’s drumming out of parliament as result of his extremely close connection with Huang and projecting an anti Australian position in relation to the South China Sea dispute along with secretive donations to the Labour Party officials clearly demonstrates that Dastyari’s influence has morphed into Richard Marle’s cowtowing to the CCP by having his Chinese media release preapproved via the Chinese Embassy officials.
Re: Australian Election
Tony, you do not know the full extent of Slippery Sam's involvement and his involvement in the 'Aldi bag full of cash' debacle with Jamie Clemants and Kaila Murnain. When the investigation is restarted, much more will come out. That is why they were hounded out of the party. Sadly cash has gotten in the way of liberal members as well, so not all one-sided. Why did you fail to mention Daryl Mcguire and his corrupt activities while he was Glady's Berejiklian's boyfriend? All of these pollies, from both sides of politics were exposed by ICAC. Good thing too, what a shame Morrison refuses to set up a federal anti-corruption watchdog.trekkertony wrote: ↑April 26, 2022, 11:25 amIt would be interesting for those who are so reviled by the current conservative government in Australia, attempt to negate the role of Chinese communist party influence in the Labour Party. Morrison does not want scrutiny for the Sports rort, the car park rort, the development grant rorts et al.
However your statement that Marles' speech was 'preapproved' is totally incorrect, no approval was sought, and none was given.

You seem comfortable with perpetuating bullshhiit - as Whistler has already shown earlier.trekkertony wrote: ↑April 26, 2022, 11:25 am.............Richard Marle’s cowtowing to the CCP by having his Chinese media release preapproved via the Chinese Embassy officials.
I guess it must be a trait of conservative thinkers and voters.

Re: Australian Election
Jack, the cowtowing in this speech included criticising the Chinese on Hong Kong and their running concentration camps and other abuses in NW China. Does anybody seriously believe they pre-approved such a speech being delivered to a major Chinese University audience?jackspratt wrote: ↑April 26, 2022, 12:00 pmYou seem comfortable with perpetuating bullshhiit - as Whistler has already shown earlier.trekkertony wrote: ↑April 26, 2022, 11:25 am.............Richard Marle’s cowtowing to the CCP by having his Chinese media release preapproved via the Chinese Embassy officials.

Re: Australian Election
The left just won’t look at the real truth. Yes he critisised China but only in one sentence of the speech. After is was shown to the Chinese govt. It appears on the surface the Australian govt did not know about his speech.
There’s a lot more to his China trip than the blinkered left want to expose in an election campaign.
Here an honest report.
