Well Putin certianly will have a job on his hands if he is to offer a "lightning-fast" response for their intervention
The UN consisting of 195 countries I guess will be waiting for him
UN Members: 193
UN Observer states: 2
Taiwan: 1
Kosovo: 1 Total: 195
Has the UN, as a collective, stated they are going to intervene?
Must have missed that.

In a keynote speech in London, Ms Truss said victory for Ukraine was now a "strategic imperative" for the West.
This amounts to the clearest statement yet of Britain's war aims which have, until now, been limited to stating that President Putin's invasion of Ukraine "must fail and be seen to fail".
Having said that, she's also aware that the UK premiership could be up for grabs sooner than later and well before Russia is defeated (if ever). Remember, she's been pictured riding in a tank in an earlier Thatcheresque photo op as well as striding purposefully off the half-million quid government airplane jaunt to some former colony.
Winning!

"On 1 March 2022, the UN and humanitarian partners launched coordinated Flash Appeals for a combined $1.7 billion to urgently deliver humanitarian support to people in Ukraine and refugees in neighbouring countries."

Definition of intervene "take part in something so as to prevent or alter a result or course of events"

Ah. No bombs and rockets then?
Thought so.
I guess they'll be "waiting for him" with tons of milk powder and pampers.

Totally agree, but when you posted:

It suggested otherwise.

Taken in that context, then your post about UN intervention is irrelevant. Possibly even a misquote.

Let's not bore the UM collective any more with this juvenile squabble. Why don't you come on over for coffee and a chat and find out?

I wonder if Putin gets on the piss when he's under stress. Hopefully if he does what a drunken Richard Nixon purportedly did, and orders some nukes to fly, his generals will just ignore him.

While in no way condoning Putin's illegal invasion of Ukraine, can anyone remember this degree of fuss, tut-tutting and condemnation when the US and it's lapdog allies illegally invaded Iraq?
Was there any talk of booting the US and UK from the Security Council?

What does my ancient Windows 3.1 computer and members of the UN Security Council have in common?
They are all unbootable.

The difference is that the entire democratic system used to work in the USA, not just one man making the cakks, IN Ukraine it is ONE man, Putin long ago got rid of the Politburo like a cabinet.

No talk of Security Council expulsions but I do remember the French and Germans telling Blair and Bush that it was a bad idea and they would have no truck with it. Dominique de Villepin was quite vocal in his protests. He was right, of course.

The Canadian PM at the time declined to participate in this war; however, he provided moral support to the U.S.: 'Jean Chrétien announced in Parliament on 17 March 2003 that Canada would not participate in the pending invasion. Nevertheless, he offered the US and its soldiers his moral support.'- Wiki

As far as Canadian policy is concerned, 'In autumn 2002, Bush had offered to send intelligence experts to brief the prime minister, and later offered to come personally to brief him; although Chretien instead choose to have said information pass through regular intelligence-sharing channels where Canadian analysts analyzed the information and passed it on to him.[21][19] Reliance on Canadian analysis may have helped Chrétien reach a different conclusion from his American and British counterparts; with Blair at one point expressing frustration on how the Canadian prime minister failed to "see the evidence," despite the fact they largely shared the same intelligence sources.[20] Canadian intelligence assessment of Iraq in 2002 and 2003 was notable in that it deviated from the assessments provided by its Five Eyes partners, even though they all had access to the same information.[21][22] This has largely been attributed to the fact that the Canadian intelligence community saw no external political pressures placed on it.[23] Subsequent inquiries after the 2003 invasion into American intelligence on Iraq also found that American analysts had assumed Iraq was determined to restart its WMD program as soon as possible.[22] This contrasted the assumptions held by Canadian analysts, who believed Iraq would temporarily suspend its WMD program for immediate economic relief; providing Canadian analysts the possibility to entertain the idea that Iraq may not have WMDs to begin with.[22]- Wiki
