Always good to see communism supporters getting in that long, gray line that communism demands of its folks.

Re: Chinese Communist Economy and Society
looks like you cant think too well bc nowhere did i say, directly or indirectly, that China is wonderful. I merely make an effort to understand a country (China) and just saying China is doing what any country does. I simply dont join the "China Is Evil" crowd.jai yen yen wrote: ↑October 10, 2019, 10:59 pmI think you should go live in China, it sounds absolutely wonderful there. I can not understand why so many people are trying to migrate to the west instead of China. I guess they don't know how great it is there as well.chopperjoey wrote: ↑October 9, 2019, 10:11 pmThe issue of the so called Intelectual Property Theft by China. Or, like the big clown like to say it, "they are thieves!"
1. Busineses are free to do busines in China, but China rightfully says if you want to use our cheap labor and tap into our giant market, you have to share yr technology with us. That is very fair. China simply doesnt want ro be used as a cheap third world country. Western businesses arent "forced" to hand over their "secrets", thats rubbish propaganda talk, they do it out of free will so they cando busines in China and earn much money.
2. one third of foreign students in America are Chinese foreign students. It means billions of dollars for universities and Americas economy. These students come legally study legally and return with knowledge to China legally. they studied hard and are brilliant students. They dont "copy" or "steal", thats all rubbish rasist talk. So a giant stre am of knowledge perfectly legal streams from America to China.
3. Industrial Espionage. Yeah sure, whats new, as if America doesnt do that, including spying on its allies,as was shown by Wikileaks.
4. A recent survey amongst teenagers in China and America. Teenagers in America want to become Vloggers or Influencers, teemagers in China dream about being an astronaut or scientist. Fast and easy money versus discovering andinventing for a better modern world.
5. For a bag full ofdollars western companies gladly do anything to please China. Top Gun 2 removing Taiwan.Basketball throwingfree speech out of the window. Airlines. Fashion companies. All GLADLY bend over andspreadtheir legs for afew bucks.
China is doing what any country shou.d do, stick up for itself and develop from a cheap labor country to a technical country.
The west though does little more than shouting rasist crap and at the same time gladly do anything for China as long as it pays of.

Bumping this one since the last comment was about avoiding the growing refrain that "China is Evil".
It's over two years since that comment so just wondering if China has done anything in the interim to suggest that it's all just a huge misunderstanding on behalf of anyone not blessed with being Chinese. Here's some topics that remain fresh.
Interference in foreign elections.
Heaping debt on third world countries that embrace the Chinese Belt & Road neocolonialism.
Tearing up the accords on Hong Kong.
Repression of minorities.
Militarization of the South China Sea.
Persisting in Draconian Zero Covid controls at home.
Anything else?

It would be interesting to know something about the evil Chinese policy toward the Uighurs and gestures of goodwill toward Taiwan.
Oh, I am horning in on the OP's territory.

A shocking failure of policy by the current Australian government.
Which, during an election, has exposed them mightily on the subject of defence and foreign policy - supposedly one of their strengths.

And why wouldnt the Solomon Islands sign a pact? their Military forces certainly arent making a stand. Reason is because they dont have any.
Re: Chinese Communist Economy and Society
Were they scared that Australia was going to invade them?

Cynically refusing to call Russia to task for Ukraine while maintaining a so-called policy of sovereign nations (unless of course that nation is Taiwan)

the So;lomons? All about the money. china's willing to dump hundreds of millions into the place. Was Australia or the US willing to do that? China will front huge sums of money and "aid" to small nations to buy their UN General Assembly vote as well as establish economic dominance over them. Just another aspect of "Diplomacy" in action..

Re: Chinese Communist Economy and Society
I agree with your comment. When the current Solomon govt was given the chance to dive into the enormous chinese CCP money pit they took it, they relinquished their soles and country to china. Australia, USA, NZ and other nations did not stand a chance to compete on an equal playing field. The wishy washy claim made by some that climate change was the catalyst for the Solomons to accept the ccp offer is delusional.FrazeeDK wrote: ↑April 27, 2022, 12:23 pmthe So;lomons? The CCP has had a big win with Musk purchasing Twitter. Twitter had apparently been getting good at identifying and labelling Chinese government nonsense on Twitter. The CCP has big leverage with Tesla and Musk. It's likely the CCP can look to better times on Twitter.

Leaked documents reveal Chinese company's aviation plans for Solomon Islands to become a 'regional hub'
One of China's largest defence and aerospace companies promised to upgrade almost three dozen airstrips in Solomon Islands as part of an ambitious plan to transform the Pacific Island country into an "aeronautical hub" for the region.
Well the first thing they better do is put up fences around these airports to keep at least the livestock off the runways

The "hair on fire libtards"* are also in a froth about the unreasonable fear that Musk's stewardship will see Donald Trump's Twitter ban rescinded just in time for the next US election.GT93 wrote: ↑April 27, 2022, 4:21 pmThe CCP has had a big win with Musk purchasing Twitter. I'm expecting the f... moron will be back on Twitter and it could well be goodnight democracy in the US. I don't think Musk has good judgement on these kinds of things.
