However, the deportation has hit a small hurdle, according to the head of Denpasar immigration office Tedy Riyandi, who told AFP on Tuesday that “airlines have not agreed (to transport him)” because he is not vaccinated against Covid-19.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said the US is "out of the pandemic phase" with COVID-19, but he's still taking some precautions.
He later said his words could have "lead to some misinterpretation" and clarified that he was talking about an "acute, fulminant phase."

Just had medication delivered for daughter .....
Tablets like a small size asprin (tiny)
Need to take 2 different strengths (first day 2 times 12 hrs apart) 2nd day onwards much weaker dose 2 x a day.
Is it me or would anywhere else provide 47 equal dosage tablets and tell you to take 8 1/2 immediately 8 1/2 in 12 hrs and then 3 3/4 each morning and evening after.
Tried choping one in half and got about half and a load of dust so how the hell do you get 3/4 of a tablet?

Medication for what? Covid? There's no medication although I've seen mention of some obscure drugs that some Thai doctors suggest may be "good for Covid." Maybe it is child's aspirin? Has she got a headache or fever? The dosage regimen looks way OTT.stattointhailand wrote: ↑April 29, 2022, 12:31 pmJust had medication delivered for daughter .....

Cutting up small pills suggests that it's native form is not a suitable dosage for children? Maybe ask if they have this instead?

Anthony Fauci says the US is not in a ‘pandemic phase’.
That's good news. One less thing to worry about.

Distribution being collated by Mrs Statts from hospital bed via Uncle trundling around on motorbike and daughter and I both stuck in house. Daughter although only 12 is already taller than Mrs Statts and bigger in other areas as well so cant really be treated as a "child" when using mass as a means of assessing dosage.

So true on daughter, my granddaughters are very small for age and their Doctor always goes by weight, not age.stattointhailand wrote: ↑April 29, 2022, 3:04 pmDistribution being collated by Mrs Statts from hospital bed via Uncle trundling around on motorbike and daughter and I both stuck in house. Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.
Some fairly recent, local studies on Covid shot efficacy. Looks like Pfizer, Pfizer, Moderna is still the best fully vaccinated + first booster combo. Mrs tam got both Chinese shots so maybe with school restarting this month, she should either get Pfizer or Moderna. I got double Pfizer late last year but since the efficacy of the booster drops markedly three months after getting it, I am holding off getting a Moderna booster until next month and closer to my departure.

Actually sinovac x2 is not as good as other vacation regimen, sinovac x 3 has been shown to be 100% effective at stopping death and serious illness something that no other combination can do and this includes omicron.
The distinction needs to be clear that death from COVID-19 is not and should never be confused with death with COVID-19

Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.
COVID-related deaths are now running at about 40 a day nationally, and it is currently the second leading cause of death in Australia, just a little behind heart disease, and ahead of dementia/Alzheimer's disease.
Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.
WHO have announced, based on excess death rates, that the Covid-19 toll globally is approximately 15 million. Some other estimates are over 20 million. The main problem is that the under counting has been worst in developing and authoritarian countries (e.g. Russia), some of which do not have much data on excess deaths.
Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.
In the UK, Covid is not over. Reported cases may have dropped dramatically, but this is partially as so little official testing now occurs. Death rates still stay over a hundred a day, averaging over 200. This is well above the death rates reported for most of the last 12 months. Out of sight, out of mind? Latest UK government policy?
