Huh? Doubled up? Can we have a report in the Queens English please.

I'm particularly sensitive because Leeds new kickball manager is now a PT teacher from the US who insists on using phrases like "we need to outpoint Burnley" and being "locked into the league"

sure...3x2=6 or 3 doubled is six. Doubled up is a common term in the Great White North when a team wins or loses by scores such as 4-2, 6-3, 8-4 (more usually in baseball and hockey) or 28-14, 42-21 in CFL football.

I don't know what the guy from the U.S. is talking about. Obviously, he does not understand the Queen's English!

Wow! Denmark defeated Canada 3-2. This is a huge upset that is even greater than Tranmere shutting out the Evertons, 3-0, a few years ago. Canada is a bit of a weak sister this year as they also lost to Switzerland.

This can easily be explained ....... both Flames & Oilers got beyond the first round of the playoffs this year

and ..... it has only taken them 73 years to re cord a win v Canada (even Everton dont take that long ....usually)

In decades past, the Great White North could send the senior Trail Smoke Eaters and Penticton Vees over to Europe to win the Championships. Amateur teams no longer cut it, and there are Canadians still toiling with Tampa Bay, St. Louis and Colorado. It would be nice to see Edmonton win Lord Stanley's mug this year.
