Turn away Team Queen Elizabeth. I hope Labor starts the journey towards an Australian head of state.
Not going to happen while Lizzie sticks around. A second level issue that can wait for the second Labor term in government.

But when it does happen, I am pretty sure most Australians won't give a flying fuucck about what random UK posters think about the issue - because honestly, it has nothing to do with them. ;)
Told you and the Halfwit NZ guy. We do not care, go, piss off. Seriously you think the UK cares, apart from the Tri partite agreement that says we and the USA will come and help you fight off the Chinese. So basically shut the F*** Up and start spending some money on defence of your Rock.
Is that you, Queen Gertrude? :D

Umm..... you made the claim, Cali.

If you don't think you can back it up, that is OK.

Same old, same old.

Suberb reply Pratt, wish I had your couple of connected brain cells. Life would be so much simpler. Just sitting on a wall, waving to the passing cars. Hope the rain stops before you have to go home and change your nappy.

Just as the colour red will predominate in the Australian parliament after the election, the red mist has descended over poor old Alex again. :?

Very proud to be born a Scot, and very proud to be an Australian citizen by choice. If you are an Australian citizen, you are not a fake Aussie, Cali could not even define a fake Aussie.

Every prediction I made about the election and the aftermath proved correct. My predictions:

- Liberals to lose the election rather than Labor to win it.
- Albo to win with a small but workable majority
- Teal candidates to bleed votes from the Liberals
- Frydenberg to lose his seat
- Dutton to be the new liberal leader, although I did think Scomo would not go so easily
- Climate change as being the number one issue with voters
- The division of Robertson to be recognised as a true bell-weather seat. Win Robertson, you win government.
- Albo to be acknowledged as a different type of leader, I think he will change the face of Australian politics
- John Howard shown to be out of touch, a truly awful ex PM
- Trekkertony's indignation about an insignificant speech by Marles, a total non-issue
- Barney's claim that the coalition pumped billions into the environment was fake big time
- Sport's assertation that the voting public had no regard for climate change proved to be wrong

Back to you Cali, your troll posts show your utter ignorance, not only of Australian politics, but also the Australian culture. Not even a clever troll, just a slug like garden variety troll.

Cali, I would debate you in person on knowledge of Australian politics, any place you want. In front of an arbitrator, but not for a measly 500 bhat. 50,000 bhat would be fine, but all money to be paid upfront and held by the arbitrator.

Queen Elizabeth might die during this current term of the Australian Parliament and that might get things cracking. I accept it's a secondary issue at present. I think in New Zealand the serious work might start with a Royal Commission led by a senior judge looking at the options for a NZ head of state. That's what happened when we changed our electoral system. I think in NZ we're going to separate into Monarchist (Team Kxxg Charles) and Republican tribes but it isn't going to cause significant damage.

Is some more chilly wind from Scotland going to blow through again? That was a surprising blast. Even by crazy crazy Udon Map standards.

Developments in Oz (or even Canada) will cause a major stir in NZ. Not bad Whistler. Quite a list there.

I'm not Australian. I care.

I suggest it's the British who have been struggling with the big picture over recent years. That's no surprise when we look at who is the current British Prime Minister.

You might be very hard pushed to find any recent British PM or Leader of the Opposition who had "keeping the Antipodes in the fold" as a key part of their policy. Maybe Churchill when he needed WWII cannon fodder was the last one? As for the current imbecile, that was wrought of Brexit, not some fanciful Auxit or the republican aspirations of the Lesser Spotted Antipodean. Don't lets get above our station now.

The UFES stands ready to be arbitrator for this awesome Mensa moment.

We (UFES) will hold the long table (as usual) while you pair can have any other seating arrangement that you consider conducive to your epic joust. The big sofa looks perfect but personally, I recommend the wee bamboo sala outside on the sidewalk. Sort of befits your position in the global imperative, i.e. on the fringe, over there somewhere, burning in the afternoon sun.

Strawman. Australia and New Zealand never saw China as a best friend or even as a friend. The US as you know has been the player in the Pacific and not the UK since WW II. As for the UK it has been furiously bashing other liberal democracies for almost a decade.

Give over. It's not about being friends. Australia and New Zealand depends on China for trade. You're the southern hemisphere's answer to Germany and Russian gas.

Since Australia and New Zealand haven't been paying attention to their closest neighbors and allowed the Chinese to slip into The Solomon's and Samoa, maybe you lot can't be trusted with self-rule when matters of global security are ignored. You haven't even got the bloody submarines yet.

It seems (taking this Forum as small sample) that the Scots are currently more concerned with future Australian constitutional arrangements than the Aussies themselves. :-k
