Got my Moderna jab (first booster) at BUD yesterday morning. A 9 a.m. appointment but I went upstairs early, whisked through lobby check-in and was third to be seated in the big 'shooting gallery'. Two nurses working the lines, twenty minute wait politely requested after the jab. MOPH certificate in Thai/English delivered 15 minutes later, all with correct dates, spelling ID etc.. There was maybe about 20 people seated by the time I left and maybe 10 more in the holding area outside in the lobby.

I also got them to write up my yellow international vaccination book (the WHO one for travelers, not the MOPH one). I will get the NHS to update my Covid records when I get home next (Pfizer 1 and 2 done last year in UK).

Gave me a couple of paracetamols for the pain that I took around tea time as my shoulder was beginning to hurt.

Tam,
Let us know if any other side effects. I've had 3 Maderna and besides sore arm for a few days, felt very tired one day after for all 3 jabs.

So far not tired. Woke up the usual time this morning and got some work done including cooking breakfast. I had an unscheduled and unexpectedly long "session" this afternoon/evening and it's bed time so I'll let you know how things kick off on Sunday. My arm was still a bit sore earlier today but not now.

Despite being triple vaccinated with Pfizer (booster late Dec 2021) I've finally succumbed to the dreaded covid flu.

I caught it from the wife who is double vaccinated and last had covid in Jan 2022.

When the wife last had it she quarantined away from the rest of us for 10 days. This time we just assumed that me and my daughter were immune (yes sounds like a dumb assumption now) and so the wife did not stay away from us.

Wife is negative today and had it very easy this time around. Fever for 1 night and 4 days of a bad cough. I've had fever for 4 days but now feeling much better. Daughter (12 years old) similar to me.
It is very similar to a bad flu I had around 20 years ago (last time i had flu). In fact if I was wearing my tin foil hat I'd say it was the flu we all just had.

It's just the flu.

Vaccines were never a prophylaxis.

Masks don't work.

We've been had.

We had a brief flourish of Covid cases in our moobahn about three weeks ago. So far none of our gang have caught it. My oldest and his oldest cousin briefly had 'symptoms' a couple of weeks back but self-testing showed nothing.

Doing a bit of shopping today without a mask to we'll see if I get any stink eye.

I got my 4th shot, Pfizer, June 16 at the Thai government site behind the Udon General Hospital for free. No waiting. Bring your 3rd shot certificate given to you at that time.
Stay safe.

There was a maskless farang in the bank today. It was very busy so he had to wait. I understand that masks are optional in the wide open spaces but generally still recommended for inside and specially in smaller places like mall bank offices. Wouldn't be so bad but he was talking loudly and non-stop with his masked farang friend who was seated five seats away (every second seat blocked) with a poor local lass (with a mask) stuck in the middle. Yes, masks are optional but his behavior was neither polite or considerate of others. He was blathering away about everything, the banking process, the weather, flat car battery, his weird cat, it was relentless.

I said earlier "masks don't work" but I was talking as a total prophylaxis. They claim they hinder the spread if the wearer is shedding but I think most people just feel safer seeing and using them. However, I wouldn't dream of strutting about in a mall or entering a shop without one let alone blathering away with twenty people as a captive audience.

It's contentious enough without the yap.

I've got it, had it three days.

Covid-19 not Dengue fever.

The narrative is swinging 180 degree against the powers to be that perhaps had us suffer more than required.

The problem is that Dengue, Common Cold, Covid, Influenza are all similar viruses, plus with Rain and Cold and dampness now everywhere azny slight infection can be one or all of them combined, actual narrowing it down to a [psecific cause is hard at best , but with the onset of A DIFFERENT SEASON, DIFFERENT PROBLEMS ARISE.

Good luck in ascertaining actual cause !!

Wasn't quite sure where to put this - but worth a look, and a laugh.
