Community Shield
Community Shield
Tomorrow Sunday 6th. August gives us the 2017/18 Curtain Raiser when Chelsea take on Arsenal in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium. Kick off 14:00hrs. UK time, 20:00hrs. here in Thailand. The game is being televised live on Thai Television Channel 7. Hope you enjoy the proceedings.
Re: Community Shield
Thank you, Goodison. Something to look forward to.
And followed by another London Derby, namely Sutton United v Leyton Orient - but not on Thai TV.

Re: Community Shield
Sorry! Got the dates mixed up. The Sutton/Leyton Orient game has just finished, so don't bother to look for a live feed after the Community Shield. I hope for a better result at Wembley tomorrow.
Re: Community Shield
Arsenal 1 (Kolasinac) Chelsea 1 (Moses) Arsenal win 4-1 on penalties
A very enjoyable game for the neutral.First half Arsenal played some lovely football and were unlucky not to lead at half time.Chelsea were sluggish but improved after the break and took the lead through Moses. That looked to be enough to secure victory but with 10 minutes to go Pedro was sent off for a nasty foul and from the resulting free kick Kolasinac headed home.
The penalty shootout was notable for a couple of shocking penalties for Chelsea from keeper Courtois and new signing Morata.Arsenal kept their cool and scored all 4 of their attempts taken under the new ABBA system......confused ?

Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Re: Community Shield
Well the idea of what goes round comes round, or it always evens out in the end, takes another mauling after Liverpool are already being given soft pens (only played one match) ............Must be at least 4 years of not being given 50/50 pens before things get anywhere near evened out

Re: Community Shield
Nobody knows how nunez will perform in the prem but for some reason hes touched a nerve with you, maybe your bird has called him (handsum man ) and youve gone all jealous, i think youve slagged him off at least 3 times in the pre season games,he comes on for 45 minutes scores 4 and you still slag him off,he then scores yesterday against city but you decide to talk about liverpool getting soft penalties? strangestattointhailand wrote: ↑July 31, 2022, 9:22 pmWell the idea of what goes round comes round, or it always evens out in the end, takes another mauling after Liverpool are already being given soft pens (only played one match) ............Must be at least 4 years of not being given 50/50 pens before things get anywhere near evened out

Re: Community Shield
Slagged him off ??? Just because he reminds me of Big Andy is not slagging him off.
I will wait to see what he plays like in the Prem before making a judgement, unlike several Liverpool supporters who seem to be convinced hes the best thing since the perm n tash look got invented

Darwin, at the very early part of any theory of evolution, or how to score four times and STILL look like a poor mans Andy Carroll.
1) Make sure the opposition keeper has limper wrists than Larry Grayson
2) When faced with a totally open goal from under one yard and the keeper being level with one post, make sure you use all available space and scuff it so badly that you score off the other post
Maybe it was a compliment and i misread it?

Re: Community Shield
It means "pound for pound" (adjusted for inflation) big Andy cost more
AND your so eager to defend him that its obvious you aren't 100% convinced hes that good
Miggy Almiron has scored SIX in pre season, but he only got one (Wonder goal v Palace) during the whole of last season

Re: Community Shield
Its nowt to do with Nunez as a player, more the fact of what league he excelled in.
Nobody comes from that league to the Prem and does well do they?
What was the name of that young lad, went to Man U a few years back, same name as a Brazilian superstar, whatever happened to him?
