looking for a better place...

Post by ivano » August 12, 2007, 6:24 pm

I am just like many others looking to rent a house.
I'm living in a townhouse on the Udon-Nongkhai Road for about a year now. The main reason i want to move is because i have no garden or no way to sit outside...(unless i sit on the curb in the street). :?
Also the townhouse is very small and it gets very hot, even in the morning!
Ideal would be a two bedroom, bathroom & kitchen and preferably large livingroom. (Furnished is a pluspoint)
But it must have a garden around the house, it doesn't have to be a large garden, as long as i can put a stone table and seats out...
I don't want to spend more then 6000baht/month on the rent.
I have been touring Udon the last week, but no succes so far.
If anyone sees a house like that between the tesco and the airport,(outside the ringroad is ok too) let me know, it would be a great help!

There are shophouses near us that go for 6000 baht a month.
I think you will have to increase your budget a little.

I will if i see something that is really worth it...
All my colleagues at school told me they have similar places for about that price.
I don't expect to find a new house for it, but there must be something out there...
Untill i find such a place i'll just keep my ass on the curb ey... 8)

thx for the fast reply anyway!!

My suggestion is get off the curb and start checking neighborhood that you think you want to be in. It is the only way I ever found a rental. more then likey you can find what your looking for in First Homes or Ramyen, but that is not in the area you want to be in

After about a week of touring around UdonThani, spreading the word at work and around my current location, getting sunburned twice (!!) i finally did find the house i was looking for!
Its a 3bedroom house, on the road to NongSamRong, with garden (just like i wanted) large living room, kitchen and brandnew!!
The building finished in octobre last year, but no-one lived in it since...
The (thai) owner is desperate for cash so she rents it to me for 3000baht!
Offcourse, for that price its not furnished but i was not specifically looking for a furnished house.
I might have to spend some cash on furniture, but in time i will win it all back.
I was aiming at a 6000baht rent/month so i will be saving 36000/year on rent now!

So to find a good house, like ray23 said, you just need to get your ass of the curb!! 8)
thx 4 the advice ray!!!

Wow, you have a bargain there.
Udon Thani, best seen through your car's rear view mirror.

At that price I would make sure you get a long term contract signed ASAP !
