I hear them Tories are fixing to oust her if the pound does the 1 for 1 thing with the dollar. How many more unelected Tory PM's serving up serial disasters before the feckless and gormless Brits realize their one trick pony died after Cameron quit and none of his successors thought to feed it?

Me too. Been there done that. Made about £800 'bonus' between the date submitting my invoice and getting paid on it. Roundabouts and swings though. Been buggered the other way as well. Had a client once who thought the € was the best thing since croissants. Made the mistake of locking in contractor's rates for three years. Everyone quit eventually. Bloody French.

Well MP's may get there wish very soon. Pound hit alow of 1.04 dollars today - basically a 5% devaluation since Truss and the gift the rich mini budget. Six years of economic chaos, bottom not yet in sight.
Tighten your belts (unless you are a CEO).

We have the Conservative Party D team screwing up my pension fund and property sale after being voted in by 130,000 paid up members of the blue rinse brigade.

I didn't vote for Cameron or May.

I didn't vote for BoJo.

I certainly didn't vote for Truss and Kwarteng.

Move 'em on - they're a gaggle of Incompetents.

That last bit's what Keir just said in Liverpool.

Why does 2024 seem so very, very far away?

Who woulda' thunk. :D

And I thought Australian politics last decade was bad.

Time for the UM Farage fan club to step up, and put him forward as the saviour.

You know who you are. 8)

Will Truss come up with a huge helping of humble pie with grovel gravy?

Re: available fruit and veg.
I wss lucky enough to appreciate the seasonal changes to both. Salads summer stews winter. Strawberrys June.
Runner beans , new pots summer
I was also fortunate having parents who grew so much veg.. It seems today people expect the FULL range every day , despite the costs of shipping same from the world over.

Those were the days when allotments were available and allotment co ops etc were providing everything from seeds to manure at an acceptable cost. Buying 6 tomato seeds in a pack for 5 quid and little growbags to grow them in and then having your water "metered" now makes the cost of providing one salad meal ridiculous.
With the advent of refrigerated transport moving goods around the world is now a viable option that was never even dreamed about in our parents time of gardening. I wonder how much it would now cost to heat my dads old greenhouse (that had a heater running throughout the winter) just to over winter some flowers and get an "early crop" of veggies going? ........no more using wood from the garden and the odd bit of coal as a heat provider these days.
Big business has made sure it is no longer an option to let people provide for themselves (even if we do long for the taste of a home produced strawberry/tomato etc that actually tasted the way it used to)

My Dad had an Electric heater for his Greenhouse, Something about by-passing the meter, never did know what he meant.
He's got his little y-fronts and he's got his little vest, Chaz Jankel, 1998. Mash it up Harry.
