Welcome to Thailand
Re: Welcome to Thailand
Am I right in thinking it totally back to normal now in terms of travel into Thailand? No PCR / RAT tests? No need to have vaccination certificates and no special entry forms / apps required?
It is also correct you now get 45 days on arrival visa? (As UK, Euro, Us, Aus, etc)

Re: Welcome to Thailand
I am not sure what are the requirements at the airport, BUT 2 days ago at the friendship bridge in Nong Khai you were asked to complete the
TM6 form.
TM6 form.

Yes, and back to normal with the queues at Immigration. (I heard last Sunday was particularly busy).
Re: Welcome to Thailand
Immigration stated that they can still manage with no passengers needing to wait outside the main Immigration area.

Immigration Bureau Spokeman Major Geneneral Choengron Rimphadee confirmed yesterday (November 10th) that there were about 25 international flights arriving at the Suvarnabhumi Airport with about 57,000 passengers. Of those 49,000 were foreigners.

Re: Welcome to Thailand
A particularly busy time at BKK Immigration every day is after the scheduled arrival of three A380’s between 12:05 and 12:45:
1. Emirates EK384 at 12:05 (517* seats)
2. Qatar QR836 at 12:40 (517 seats)
3. Emirates EK376 at 12:45 (517* seats)
*Note: According to Emirates website their A380 fleet has four different seat configurations:
1. Four class ULR 484 seats
2. Three class ULR 489 seats
3. Three class LR 517 seats
4. Two class LR 615 seats.
The relatively high tourist / business passenger ratio generally means that the Emirates DXB-BKK flights tend to be in the 517 seat or 615 seat LR variants.

Re: Welcome to Thailand
I'll be on the {Qatar QR836 at 12:40} one next month.
The family are flying before me so no opportunity to use Thai nationals gates either.
Flight up to Udon not until 17:55 so have plenty of time to wait in Queues! (which means less time to enjoy Bill Bentleys in Domestic terminal!!)

Re: Welcome to Thailand
I was at the suvanarpumi (Bkk) airport today Sunday November 13, 2022, between 3-4 PM and the airport was jam packed with tourists, just like the good old days.

Thaiger:
This time though, the airport isn’t quite as prepared the handle the influx of new international travellers.
Immigration was quick to pass the buck though, saying that their processes and staff were fine, but language and communication issues, as well as problems with airlines, have slowed the process down significantly.
After arrival, passengers have also reported long queues for taxis, prompting officials to call for more taxi drivers to come and even request the help of Grab drivers.
Many in the tourism industry have been disheartened by what they feel is a terrible first impression for those arriving internationally in Thailand.

Re: Welcome to Thailand
With them reporting 57,000 and say if then attained this everyday for a year, 365 days the incoming people for a year would still only be half of what Thailand used to admit pre-Covid.
Now 57,000 people x 365 days = 20,850,000 people. Pre-Covid it was reported that Thailand admitted 40,000,000 people per year

Re: Welcome to Thailand
^ There is more than 1 point of entry into Thailand. In 2019 Suvarnabhumi admitted 53 million international passengers alone. The main 6 airports combined admitted 86 million. This is international arrivals excluding domestic arrivals.
Not sure about Sea and land borders in terms of additional numbers.
