That was a eye-op[ener this AM a downpour , many people seen scurrying around trying to cover their Cut Rice , from a gardeners perspective lovely jubbly, anyone else oops, saw a couple of near misses this AM on the way to DLT KK Road, drivers forgetting rain and rubber do not mix.

Well overnight it rained and did it rain not once but twice was woken up by the Rain, the first bit between 1900-2130 ish, accompanied by Thunder and lightening although more lightening than thunder and the second time about 0200 ish, short sharp heavy rain for about 30 mins.
Amount of rain unknown but small pools in my back garden indicates at least in total about 2 inches overnight

In the quarter century we've been here, most every year Nov-Mar are bone dry.....if you get any measurable rain during those months, count yourself lucky. With another 16mm yesterday afternoon and 6mm last night, the garden will thrive for another month or two on its own

My experience a bit different to parrot's .... according to Historical climate, you should get about 5 days rain between November and March. maybe not a lot, but some. Between October 2010 and 2015, we had about that where we are. But the last 2 or 3 years no rain or only 2 days rain.
We got very little on Thursday or Friday daytime, but about 2 inches last night, rice field is full of puddles all day today.

I agree........my experience with rain during those months is it's mostly hit or miss.......one year it seemed every time there was a cloud in the sky, it rained at ourhome. But we've had our share of years where it's thundering all around us....obviously raining somewhere.....but not raining at our home.
