Thanks for that comment, I fin d Bridgestone wear out too damn quickly, my truck being the old version weighs nearly two tons, so good quality is required.
Wearability, Michelin were the best at nearly 4 years but expensive, Maxxis 3 years but more expensive than Dunlop. Dunlop, so far wear is minimal and cost excellent. Used to always have Dunlop fitted in the UK, their SP Sports for my Honda prelude and CRX and CRV.
Tyres like brakes so important , no point of starting if you cannot stop I say.

I wonder if anyone has bought tires on Lazada. Some of their prices seem really good.
I am in the market for 255/70 R15
Maybe go with the H (highway) version this time instead of the noisier AT (All terrain) tires.

I looked at Lazada, but didn't proceed for a few reasons:

1. what is the age, ie manufacture date, of the tyre(s) - particularly the very cheap ones

2. you still need to pay for removal of the old, and fit/balance + possible alignment of the new tyres

3. after sales service, if there is a problem.

I always buy my tyres at Tyre Plus. My original Bridgestone tyres on my pickup lasted 110,000 kilometers. Replaced due to age. I switched those to Goodyear and I only got 40,000. Switched back to Bridgestone and now I'm at 100,000 and still have plenty of wear left but will likely change next oil change as this pickup goes back and forth to Nongkhai nearly daily.

My Pajero Sport also had Bridgestone's from the factory. I swapped those to Goodyear at about 95,000 kilometers more for age than kilometers again. Those Goodyear's also only last about 40,000. Swapped to the Michelin SUV tires. I have about 75,000 kilometers on those and they look like they can go another 20 or 30k.

The thing I like about Tyre Plus is they will balance, rotate and do a front end alignment every 10,000 km, same time as the oil change, for free as well as free tyre repairs and nitrogen top up.

On another older car I have, they replaced a Michelin due to an accident sidewall damage for free when it was nearly a year old. I thought that was a good bit of service.

I do check the DOT date codes when I buy a set to ensure they're fairly new as well as within the same manufacturing run. Tyre Plus has not tried to pull a fast one on me yet. I'm not sure a Lazada vendor will be in nearly as scrupulous.

Talking to other fellas at the pub, I feel like most people don't understand that they should rotate their tyres particularly on 4x4's. Obviously, if tyre replacement is done due to age this is less of a concern.

If it were me, I would use TyrePlus or another local chain for the service over online.

(Cheapest local Dunlop price I could find was x4 = 13,800 B , Goodyear AT cheaper at x4=11,120, with install and balance)

Lazada cheapest, Dunlop AT3 tires x4= 8,430 B plus 800 to install and balance = 9,230 B
Dunlop At5 tires x4= 8,140 B plus 800 to install and balance = 8,940 B

Goodyear AT Silent track (same noise as other tires) X4= 8,944 B ,plus install=9744 B

I will decide tomorrow,,, or keep driving till they ......

Got 4 new tires fir Revo pick up high versioin not to long ago .. went for Yokohama cost 12k .. place opposite Sports college on the ring rd.. price includes free rotation alinment checks whenever needed and also free regular nitrogen top ups.

TyrePlus is nationwide but I don't know if the service freebies are nationwide or franchise wide. Monthol TyrePlus have 3 or 4 locations in Udon and I can say that group will honour the free rotation, balance, alignment between them.

Having used as some have said Bridgestone and Michelin as well as Maxxis over the years. Dunlop had a good price and hardwearing capabilities that Bridgestone did not have plus they were nearly half the price of Michelin .

My tyre size is 255/70/16. Always change two every two years, but sometimes longer depending on wear. Front tyres always the newest, heavy truck so front wear out quicker. spare relaced by a discarded rear tyre and all rebalanced just over 6000 baht.

Forgot to check the spare once, when checked bloody thing was falling apart .

Use the big Dunlop outlet on the Ring Road ..

FWIW When rotating (if the tyres are not directional and I have a full sized spare) I always have the 5 tyres in the rotation.

The benefits of this include that the spare doesn’t age out or harden to the stage that handling is compromised when used, the spare is always near or at the correct pressure, if your tyres get worn down, you get about 20% longer life.

So I am very surprised that people will carry a spare and make little to no use of it. I thought that including it in the rotation was so self evidently “the correct way” there was no point in mentioning it.

On an unrelated, but equally surprising point, it seems that the routine use of the hand break (E brake for yanks) for automatic cars is also not standard and people rely on the parking interlock in the transmission (very expensive to repair) rather than the hand break (easy to fix if needed). Of course I have to remember not to use anything if I’m in a sideways spot in the multi story.
