climate change
Re: climate change
there has been a shift in public attitudes towards language that offends us – audiences have a shrinking tolerance for racial and cultural insults, but have chilled out when it comes to blasphemy, swearing

Re: climate change
Interesting little snippet i picked up about CLIMATE change, Antartic ICE SHEET is actually growing , now although one has to admit it is getting warmer, we are also suffering from HREE years of El nina effect.
So although we are NOT ruling out clamte apocalypse, Mother Earth has its own agenda , none of us may see the final outcome , but it has happened before !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: climate change
ONE Antarctic icesheet is growing, due to changed wind patterns. Overall still loosing ice. Another factor affecting both poles is that a warmer ocean (due to climate change) means more evaporation which leads to more precipitation (mainly as snow) which helps offset the rate of melting. It is possible that ice sheets could grow instead of shrinking, but it would take a LOT of snow to offset the melting.

Monkton is an idiot. An evil idiot and that is the kindest thing I can say about the privileged lord.

My fault. The link just above has more of the discussion I find thought provoking as does the Spotify link but one may need to sign up to Spotify to hear/watch that one.
Which part was discredited? and by whom? Not sure I understand if you mean the person or his books or all of the stats or a particular stat or idea? Interested, not arguing, JS.jackspratt wrote: ↑December 15, 2022, 7:04 pmAlbeit, a thoroughly discredited one.Potamoi wrote: ↑December 15, 2022, 6:21 pmAnother take on climate change.

Here is a fairly candid discussion that may be of interest:

My YouTube suggested follow up videos did not mention any Monkton so I'm afraid I don't have any comment there.

Oh, so someone who has a different view on things other than you whistles is a notorious wacky person. So its your way or none at all. You must have only half a brain to support your agenda , a full brain would listen to both sides of a debate.

Merry Christmas Sport!
I am being kind to the poor fellow, he has stated his belief that people who believe in climate change should be jailed. He also stated that anybody in the USA with AIDS should be locked up for life and be given monthly blood tests. Estimations vary between 1.5M and 3M people.

Re: climate change
This seems to be representative of opinions about Lomborg's work, albeit a few years old.
There's plenty more.
https://climatefeedback.org/evaluation/ ... -alarmism/Seven climate scientists have analyzed the article and they estimate its overall scientific credibility to be 'very low' to 'low'.
A majority of reviewers tagged the article as: Cherry-picking, Flawed reasoning, Misleading.
SUMMARY
The main reason for this negative evaluation is that the author practices cherry-picking: he is selecting limited evidence to support his thesis that “much of the data about climate change are…encouraging”. The evidence provided is insufficient: several examples are either inaccurate or only speak about one aspect of the problem, ignoring much of the published literature on the subject.
There's plenty more.

Re: climate change
I am still sceptical about hydrogen. You either generage it from fossil fuels (which wastes a lot of the energy of the fossil fuel) or you use electrolysis which is also inefficient (you loose about 80% of rhe electrical energy). I suspect electric vehicles will be a more energy efficient option. In the end, to be really successful, the econonics have to work. I am sure there will be some niche markets, but i doubt it will be a big player.
