Suvarnabumi Airport to Udon choices

Post by Mainer » August 28, 2007, 8:50 am

What would be my best bet to get from Suvarnabumi Airport to Udon? Flying is out because of luggage consideration and time constraints, I think.

I arrive at 4:10 PM. Then how long will it take to get thru immigration and Customs? You think I can I get to Hualampong train station by 8:45 for sleeper train to Udon? I see an express bus to train, but it takes me out of the way. http://www.airportexpressthai.com/images/mapW_a4.jpg Would that be a long trip. Think I can make it on time?

If not, I can go to Mo Chit bus station. Any suggestions on 23 seat VIP bus companies?

Where do I get this express bus? Where are the meter taxis? I think taxis be a better choice..?

Thanks...

Instead of going to the main bangkok train station go to Don Muang. It will take less time to get there plus you have about 45 minutes up your sleeve [ travel time for train from Hualamphong ].

There is a bus direct from Suvanaphoom to Don Muang. 35 baht

There is also a direct bus from Suvanaphoom to Udon.

The buses leave from The Transportation Center. There is a free shuttle bus there from the terminal.

Mikem, can you tell me a bit more about the bus from Suvarnabumi to Udon? That sounds like a great idea and simple. Do you know about their schedule or where I can find out more?

Hi,

Check out the bus timetable here:-

http://www.1stopbangkok.com/getting_here/bus/

I'm coming to Udon myself this Friday. I'll be getting a taxi from Suv airport to Don Muand, then the flight at 12:30.

Cheers
Phil

The bus is from "the transport company' and leaves at 2100 hrs from the airport.
Take the shuttle bus from the airport to the transportation centre and then look for the office of the 'transport company' (its next to the 7-11 shop)

Thanks Paul =D>, do you know if it is a VIP bus? 23 seat bus perhaps? Arrival time in Udon? Well anyway, thank you ALL for your help. I might just hang there at the transport company and get a cup of Nescafe at 7-11. I am hoping to meet you all at the next gathering... I hope it is posted well in advance.
