Looks like the rooting out of Ukrainian corruption in order to get into the EU and NATO faster continues unabated.

Zelenskiy's fighting a war on (at least) two fronts. Three if you count Germany.

and then there's the latest "game changer" in the new US iteration of Denfense Assistance to Ukraine, the Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB). The media is all over it.. Just one small problem.. It doesn't yet exist in the Ground Launched form.. US Defense industry reps say it will take at least nine months to put the GLSDB into production and get it shipped to Ukraine. Always.. Tomorrow..... Oh, I did see one video today showing the "first" Leopard 2's for Ukraine being offloaded from A Canadian C-17 in Poland... When it will actually get into Ukraine remains to be seen.

Rocket bombs some time before Christmas and F-16's next summer so no big rush then. Apart from Canada I mean.

For some reason or other, my wife was watching RT news last night. It certainly offers a different perspective on world events than ABC which focused on the lack of koalas in New South Wales, and Queensland not having permission to build a new coal mine. RT was quick to announce that Russia has sent aid teams to help out the earthquake victims in Syria and Turkey. Subsequently, there was a lengthy feature concerning the EU's criticism of Russia trying to gain a favourable impression in Africa. RT balanced that criticism with a critique of western influence pedaling in Africa. RT was keen to emphasise that the conflict with Ukraine was moving ahead well. Next, was an item from the west that was critical of Putin; however, before I could get to the defence of Putin by RT, I switched channels to learn about the rising cost of food in Japan over the past month. Then it was back to the soaps on 33. I like the re-run they have at six. I first saw it 3 or 4 years ago. It's not bad although the father and one of his daughters have really bad tempers.
We make our world significant by the courage of our questions and by the depths of our answers.

I find Tom Cooper to be a pretty good source for what happens in the Ukraine war. Certainly more reliable than RT news. Currently not much progress, Russia attacks, fails, Russia attacks, fails, Russia attacks, succeeds, Ukraine counterattacks, pushes them back.
Gains and losses are measured in metres, and thousands of lives every week. Very much like WW1.

Russia's mistake was to throw its best forces into battle without good logistic support last year, and loosing most of them. Now they have to train a new army, that wull take a year or two. There only hope of success is a long war of attrition.

I have to wonder how much Putin regrets not trying to take Ukraine during the previous administration.

There is a report from Tom Cooper that a Ukrainian offensive has started in Bakhmut, with indications of Russians retreating. But early days yet.

Cooper is really good but unfortunately only posts sporadically. this guy does a daily or more often update on the Ukrainian war. He focuses on actual tactics used and sources from both Ukrainian and Russian social media
