adjective | TAN-tuh-mount
What It Means
Tantamount means “equivalent in value, significance, or effect.” It is sometimes confused with paramount, which does not describe something that is equivalent, but instead means “superior to all others.”
// Although I had not witnessed the mischief that resulted in rolls of paper towels tumbling out of the cabinet door, the giggles coming from the youngest child of the house were tantamount to a confession.

Re: WORDS
The most recent controversial word is 'woke'.
Used as an insult when referring to those with a progressive view of society/politics.
This has replaced the other derogatory word 'snowflake' that was used by the same forum members and the same alt-right community. Insulting is part of the herd mentality of this sector of our community.
Ponders, why do alt-right folks think it is necessary to use child like insults? Ponders again, who on this forum has made the switch?
Baa Baa.

Still trying to work out what "snowflake" has to do with anything except the weather.
As for "woke", well I'm happy to say I woke up yesterday and thankfully I woke up again today

Once the term baby boomer was used, there seemed to be a desire from some to attach a Monikor to the ensuing age groups.

Re: WORDS
I wasted some time this morning while contemplating doing something sensible or getting my lazy backside out of bed.
The following flock (folk?) made the switch from snowflake to woke, maybe some others too, the switch coincided with the US midterms when the alt-right mob in America started to vent against Democrats, moderate Republicans and everybody else that their hate filled little minds could identify who opposed their extremist views. Shows the enormous influence of US culture (an oxymoron) on the world.

Honourable mention to KP, only used the terms once
There are others like mak and Maaka who hold strong right wing views, but did not seem compelled to use name calling in their posts. Good on them.

Not lived in Blighty since the mid-70s? That's bleak.
Nostalgia, now there's a word but what are it's origins, readers?

Bleak, I don't think so. Lovely things about England, spring, daffodils, crocus in the lawns, wonderful London. Scotland is September etc. However, there are delights in other parts of the world too.
