No alcohol sales on the following
Re: No alcohol sales on the following
does not apply to farangs because we do not vote. You can go to alcohol outlet and simply show them your pink card, if you do not have a pink card, get a mate who has one.
Sales to farangs is to be limited to 3 bottles of beer and one 750ml of spirits.

"The ban applies to foreigners as well, even though they can’t vote. Thailand bans alcohol sales during provincial elections. The ban is reportedly supposed to discourage so-called ‘drink voting’ in Thailand, preventing people from voting for candidates they might regret voting for later on."
The ban is reportedly supposed to discourage so-called ‘drink voting’ in Thailand, preventing people from voting for candidates they might regret voting for later on. But in past elections, angry social media users, particularly expats, called the ban a part of Thailand’s “ridiculous war on alcohol“.
When elections were held in December in 2020, one user wrote “They timed the election just to ruin Christmas”. Another wrote, “Just another example of people control…animal farm! Nothing less”. Another comment was “Farang can’t vote and should be exempted from this foolishness

Re: No alcohol sales on the following
If they sold alcohol to farang. what would stop them sharing a bottle with a Thai ?
Not sure what difference being p/arsed makes to voting ........probably not much difference to receiving a B10000 voucher to vote one way or another .........bit of an upgrade on last time when If memory serves it was only about B300 on offer for the vote

Re: No alcohol sales on the following
So there's a ban on sales of plonk, but no ban on drinking it on said days?

Re: No alcohol sales on the following
I think they should make a more novel ban....say no corrupt activities for 2 days.

In particular, if it was a worldwide ban on corruption for two days.

Yeah, but it doesn't work that well. Maybe the first day of the New Year and April First could do the trick.

Re: No alcohol sales on the following
I suspect they banned booze on May 6th coz anyone who is anyone in Thailand will be in UK at Charles Coronation so it wont make a happeth of difference to them anyway.
Have to feel a bit sorry for any Brit Royalists who own bars in Thailand and have planned Coronation Day parties to celebrate

Re: No alcohol sales on the following
Every time I voted so far I ended up regretting it.
Don’t worry about tomorrow. Today is terrifying enough.
I never forget a face, but in your case I can do an exception.

Can you be more precise, statts - what cup are you talking about eg B cup/C cup/ad infinitum?
And why won't there be any more cups?

Re: No alcohol sales on the following
FA cup - so, based on the widely understood meaning of that acronym, it means very little.
A bit like Everton's Sydney Cup from last year, yes?
