Pregnant Thai Serial Killer

Post by Laan Yaa Mo » April 26, 2023, 5:26 pm

The police caught her (Sararat "Aem" Rangsiwuthaporn) yesterday. in Bangkok. She had a bottle of cyanide with her. At the moment (according to the news on Channels 32 and 33), the authorities suspect she has murdered at least 13 people by either injecting them with cyanide or putting it in their food. This tragedy is made worse by the fact she is pregnant.

I suppose expecting her husband (a senior RTP cop by all accounts) to notice anything unusual would have been ridiculous.
Cant expect cops anywhere to notice evidence, even those on duty in Downing St didnt notice any parties at No 10 during lockdown

I didn't quite catch what the news said about the husband. One report seemed to say he was in Udon while she was busy doing her thing in other cities. One newscast indicated he was also a victim and died of a stroke caused by the cyanide. Channel 33 was saying that there are 12 victims, and two survivors. She also robbed the victims.

Is it easy to buy cyanide in Thailand? One wonders if many husbands will be eating out for the next few weeks.

According to last night's news on the Thai Rath channel (32), there are 16 victims now of which the first death by cyanide took place ten years ago.

The Bangkok Post is trying to play catch up to the news channels with information about the woman who allegedly murdered up to 16 people. Statts is right in wondering what the high ranking police officer husband has to say about his wife and her activities.

I expect the total to keep rising as the bib use this opportunity to asign any unsolved deaths on their books.

Still wondering how you get hold of cyanide mind you? Isn't that what was used on the Tokyo metro attack years ago?

Apparently, a sister is a pharmacist. At this point she denies providing any cyanide to the suspect.

I remember a knife attack on the Tokyo subway in which a number of people were injured. I don't remember one in which cyanide was used.

Oh it was not cyanide but Sarin. Same same but different.

The Tokyo subway sarin attack (地下鉄サリン事件, Chikatetsu Sarin Jiken, "Subway Sarin Incident") was an act of domestic terrorism perpetrated on 20 March 1995, in Tokyo, Japan, by members of the cult movement Aum Shinrikyo. In five coordinated attacks, the perpetrators released sarin on three lines of the Tokyo Metro (then Teito Rapid Transit Authority) during rush hour, killing 13 people,[1][2][3][4][5] severely injuring 50 (some of whom later died), and causing temporary vision problems for nearly 1,000 others. The attack was directed against trains passing through Kasumigaseki and Nagatachō,[6] where the Diet (Japanese parliament) is headquartered in Tokyo.

I worked on the construction & Commissioning of the Thai Copper Refinery in Rayong,
Cyanide was produced as a biproduct.
I remember thinking at the time the security for that part of the plant was not great.

As anyone who watched any of the Thai news channels last night, you will know that the husband, who was a police officer in Udon, has been arrested and charged.

Maybe someone can enlighten me, because there's something I don't 'get'. Ok, so the facts aren't entirely clear over the number of victims and the period involved, but let's say quite a few persons and years. But can I assume that autopsies take place automatically for every death, or only in cases of strange, suspicious circumstances? Cyanide in the victims' bodies should, therefore, have been highglighted and I imagine is a pretty rare occurence in 'cause of death'. So, why has it taken so long to find this woman? Even if the deaths were at different locations, a search on a national database should have had bells ringing if 'cyanide' or 'aquaintances' was inputted.

He worked in Kanchanburi before moving to Ratchaburi. According to that article, it's alleged he came to Udon to pick up his ex-wife after she had met with her ex-boyfriend somewhere locally and poisoned him. No mention of him serving in Udon.

You are correct. I got that incorrect information from a first night newscast that indicated the husband also was a victim, and he worked with the police department in Udon Thani.

How nice. It seems that the alleged killer paid off her husband's debts, which totaled three million baht.

And despite this, and knowingly receiving and trading stolen goods in the form of the car of the former boyfriend that his ex-wife murdered and being unable to convince his ex-wife to confess, the ex-husband STILL gets bailed because "there's no evidence to link him to the murders"?

Hakparn's murder investigation is chock full of circumstantial evidence that should be good enough to put her away but not the former cop who still lived with her "for the children"?
