What is the make and model of the vehicle, and the same for your phone?

Re: smart phone connection to vehicle control
Most vehicle - phone interfaces use BlueTooth - just activate it in both cases, they will see each other and select pair.
You then have hands free phone use, music on your phone can be played on the vehicle sound system etc.

have a 2021 Toyota 'Yaris. The system is simple so far as doing a Blue Tooth Pairing for phone use and or music from your phone. There are though, numerous other features its supposed to support (GPS from the phone??) that I haven't figured out either...

I use an Android phone and drive a Honda sedan, so I interface the two with the Android Auto app. You have to download it to your phone, then when you connect your phone by cable to the entertainment center, it will automatically turn on the Bluetooth function and allow hands free calling as well as the use of Maps, Spotify, LINE, WhatsApp and a number of other apps that can be used on the car's entertainment center.
Colossians 2:8-10...See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ. For in HIM dwells all the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily; and you are complete in HIM, who is the head of all principality and power.

Re: smart phone connection to vehicle control
The vehicle supports Android Auto (AA), so you should be able to use all the features via Bluetooth from your phone.
If the phone has Android 10 or later, AA is built in. From Android 5 to 9, you need to download the AA app from the Play store.
I don't have any experience with T-Connect.

T. Connect from wot I can gather is Toyota. It tells you where the vehicle is if stolen. Advises on next service. Tells you of any parts require replacing.jackspratt wrote: ↑April 27, 2023, 3:53 pmThe vehicle supports Android Auto (AA), so you should be able to use all the features via Bluetooth from your phone.

I've already connected phone via Bluetooth. Have now down loaded android auto. As this oppo is on 7.25.
Will attempt tomorrow
Re: smart phone connection to vehicle control
Further to this attempted to connect. Result not compatible with this devise. Tired a few other ways. Nope. So tomorrow will try to get android update onto phone it's currently 7.1.1.
The updates are at 13 but for some reason I can't get it to update. Could be a snide phone

For Android Auto to work your Android operating system need to at version 8 at least. I’m not sure your mobile support that.
Please note that current version of the Android operating system is version 13!
Also note that most Chinese mobiles are not running Android operating system anymore, so if you buy a new mobile phone you have to take that into consideration.

Don’t worry about tomorrow. Today is terrifying enough.
I never forget a face, but in your case I can do an exception.

Without further ado.. Yep it's the phone that's causing problems. Also this phone cannot be updated. So will now have to buy a new phone..msa wrote: ↑April 28, 2023, 9:07 amFor Android Auto to work your Android operating system need to at version 8 at least. I’m not sure your mobile support that.

Re: smart phone connection to vehicle control
in my case I downloaded Android Auto onto my Samsung Smart PHone that is Android Ver 11. It was already paired via Bluetooth with my Toyota auto system. When I connected the phone to the sound system and launched the Android Auto App the car sound system uploaded some data and now shows an Android Auto on/off switch in the setup software. However, with Android Auto launched on the phone, when I connect via cable to the sound system it continually cycles with an "incompatible system" error popping up..... Smarter than me I guess..

Furthermore
Went dealership Lucky this time there was a Guy who knew what he was doing.
He used his phone to prove The system worked
Then tried My phone and advised that a minimum of Android 10 was needed As some phones below that even though you downloaded The app Will still not function...so without further Ado go and buy a New phone As mine couldn't be updated
Tried it this morning....simple plug in USB lead first
All is well after a frustrating few days.
I now know some of my Thai friends have given up trying
But already two have now installed it.
Amazes me that they just accept it doesn't work having paid for it.
So thanks alot for advice and experiences
