They have great toilets to....ok they are squat down type and can throw you off balance with a little turbulance at an inconveniant moment, but better than tongs bogs.
flew with them once take off time was at 13.27pm but the crew were asleep so did,nt leave till 16.03pm...mai pen rai.

And they make frequent stops on demand,saving you money that you would have spend on samlors!I believe you can take turns with the pilot in flying the plane! Great for a resume ,if you can get a work permit!Privacy is also a plus!Sometimes you have the whole cabin to yourself!

Reservations are no problem!Just send me an advance fee of your choice and I will make a booking for you!

Balloon release threatened at airport

Residents from 32 housing projects who are affected by aircraft noise at Suvarna-bhumi Airport plan to release balloons to disrupt air traffic next Friday. Published on September 1, 2007

The residents demand that no landings or take-offs should occur between 9pm and 5am because they claim the noise disrupts their sleep.

Prasert Boonkaew, a leader of the residents, whose houses surround the airport, said the protest was being organised to show the people's anger at the Airports of Thailand (AOT)'s slowness in dealing with their problem, including compensation, purchasing houses located in excessively noisy areas and repairing houses affected by the noise.

"We had to take the ultimate step by announcing the night curfew on air traffic. It will start on September 7," he said.

Prasert warned that if the government ignored their plea, the residents would march from Ruam Ruedee Housing Project to "block the airport roads" from the north and the south until they got satisfactory answers.

Meanwhile, a source from AOT said it was aware of the plan but noted that the confusion might have been caused by "conflicting resolutions". The Cabinet first agreed to the buy the houses but later decided only to repair them.

The source said: "People have the right to protest, but they should target the Cabinet, not the AOT, because the confusion arose when the Cabinet changed its mind."

Thewa Racha police chief Colonel Yongyuth Decharat said police would have no choice but to arrest those who actually did release balloons, although he personally sympathised with those affected by the noise pollution.

"Releasing balloon would be considered an act of sabotage with severe consequences and would harm the country's image world-wide. I would like to plead with those who have threatened to do this to rethink their campaign," the officer said.

BANGKOK: -- A wingtip of a latest technology Airbus 380 aircraft currently being tested by Thai Airways International (THAI) Saturday morning hit a hangar entrance door at the Suvarnabhumi airport maintenance centre as the plane was about to take off for Chiang Mai, causing a delay.

No injuries were reported in the accident which took place at 9.45am local time (0245 GMT) when the wingtip of the A380 hit the door of the THAI maintenance hangar at the airport east of Bangkok in Samut Prakan.

Several prominent personalities were on the test flight. Among them were Royal Thai Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Chalit Phukphasuk and a number of journalists. The ill-fated plane was due to fly to Chiang Mai and return to Suvarnabhumi airport later Saturday before proceeding to Toulouse, France.

The test flight was offered by Airbus Industrie as part of its marketing campaign for A380 for countries which have ordered for a purchase.

THAI president Apinan Sumanaserani said the accident did not result from pilot error, but that it may have occurred from the size of the aircraft which was larger than the safety line marked for aircraft making a U-turn.

Mr. Apinan said the plane could fly again after repairs which were expected to take about an hour.

900 illegal taxi drivers, guides held

More than 900 illegal taxi drivers and tour guides were arrested at Suvarnabhumi airport in June and July as the airport is working harder to ensure passenger safety. Suvarnabhumi airport director Serirat Prasutanont said the crackdown had brought illegal taxi and guide activities down by 70-80%.

On my return to the UK I was surprised at DM airport, the taxi rank took my booking and gave me 2 slips of paper, 1 was taken by a man who allocated a taxi to me and he wrote down the taxi number on it, the second was a pre addressed complaint slip for me to use, it had several "tick boxes" such as METER NOT USED / DROPPED OFF AT WRONG PLACE / OVERCHARGED etc: and a free space for comments. The driver offered the meter at once, the fare to new airport was 300 baht + 50 baht surcharge for airport pick up + toll fees, - the cheapest this journey has ever been for me . Maybe, just maybe, they are trying to improve things.

What are the latest thoughts on how long to allow from arriving International at S'poom airport and getting out and across to Don Muang?

My flight arrives S'poom at 15.05, and the last flight to Udon now is at 18.00 with Thai Air, allowing for check in it doesn't give much more than 2 hours, which I think would be pushing it too much, bearing in mind I would have to go through Immigration and collect bagagge, before getting on the road to Don Muang.

Does anyone have any recent experience of this (or are you all watching the Olympics opening ceremony!!

I guess you have an Thai Airways E-Ticket. Maybe it is an idea to check in online, it will give you extra time. Only your lugage might be a problem.....

No, I'll be arriving Suvanpoom at 15.05, EVA flight from London, and wanted to get across to Don Muang for the Thai flight to Udon at 18.00 same evening. Is it possible?

I did it last November on a Saturday afternoon. Came off an Eva Air flight and grabbed a taxi. Got across town in 40 minutes (driver played a blinder). Caught the last Thai Airways cab up to UTH.

It can be done, Arjay but it's tight timewise.

I did this same run last month, EVA then Thai upto UT, no problem at all, arrived in plenty of time, spent 30 mins in immigration / baggage collection, about 10 mins getting a taxi, 40 mins between airports, checked straight in at DM, had more than an hour to relax & have a drink before my flight.
No problem mate, as long as EVA is not delayed too much (and they seem to keep time OK ) you'll have no problem.
