Abnormally high temperatures are being recorded in seas around Europe and the North-East Atlantic ocean. Up to 4 degrees Centigrade above normal for June. Water has a much higher capacity to hold heat than air, so this will not dissipate quickly.

Not a personal criticism but I think these predictions based on "current rates" are all rather alarmist. Using that rather broad metric for predicting the end of the world, the very recent revelation that September's actual global temperatures beat predictions by "several hundred percent" means we're more doomed than they'd have us believe. That's my quantification by the way since the scientists haven't actually produced a numerical comparison beyond "extraordinary", "huge" and "whopping".

Based on current rate "science", the planet will self-immolate sometime around four this coming Sunday afternoon.

Settlements found worldwide after Climate Change ice melts. Logic would suggest that warmer climates occured before in our world history to allow these settlements to exist.

These items are not from settlements, but items lost or left at temporary camps on trade/hunting routes. Annual snow fall buries the items which usually sink slowly during summer melts until they end up on the ground beneath. Modern melting now exposes that ground.

What is more intriguing are finds on the seabed. Many settlements were flooded by rising sea levels between 11,650 years ago and 7,000 years ago, when sea level rose by approximately 60 metres. Most structures were destroyed, but fishing boats occasionally dredge up an artefact, e.g. from Dogger land under the North sea.

While i am at it, latest climate news -

2023 is expected to set a new record for global temperature, with 5 months (so far) setting new records and October breaking the previous October record by 0.4 degrees centigrade. Over 100 days this year have so far exceeded the 1.5 degrees warming limit which was proposed in 2015. It was too ambitious, and will almost certainly be exceeding by a year in this decade. The rate of warming in the last 20 years means even the 2 degree not to be exceeded limit will be hard to achieve.
