Re: UK's refugee deportations to go ahead

Through the successive embarrassments of forced leadership changes and the growing number of disaffected or rebellious Tories who won't be standing for re-election next year and leaving the field, is there anyone else who could fill the Home Secretary post in the very unlikely event that Braverman gets the heave-ho? Sunak backs her proposals for now but are any of the very few candidates to replace her fully onboard with her nonsense?

As for the pillock in the audience who suggested 'These people... have crossed several safe countries to get to France, why don't they stay in other countries?'', he lost me when he labeled them "These people".

Pray tell Tamada, how would you have better phrased the statement?

To enter the UN scheme dealing with asylum seekers, people fleeing are required to claim asylum in the first safe country. This does not require that country to take them all in, it is just the first stage of the process.
"these people" arriving in rubber boats are not registered in the UN system. They are cherry picking as to which country has the best benefits system.
Another point here is that the people who are not registered, then it is almost certain that few, if any will have had the required covid vaccinations that until recently you were required to show airlines etc. to allow travel.

Pray tell Trekkertony, do the words "refugee" or "migrant" stick in your craw as well?

Back to the pillock in question, it probably doesn't register with Mr average white Tory voter that France has always been more of a $#1hole for "these people" than l'angleterre and not just right now either.

One doubts whether it registers with the average Mr, Labour or the average Mr. SNP voter either.

Make that Mr. average white Labour voter or Mr. average white SNP voter. I don't know about Mr. average white Liberal-Dem voter.

Probaly so but the linked video clip I am basing my pillock assessment on did specifically have a 100% Tory-voter audience.

Them Lib-Dems are a different kettle of wombats.
