I always thought it seemed unethical to pay your way to be on the priority list for the vaccine. :-"

I waited in the queue and got it for free...
100% with you there deano ........ the phrase "som nam na" springs to mind =;
Im not seeing the serves you right Statto .. IMO its unethical for a health provider to operate in such a way and in hindsight taking peoples money without even having any vaccines was out n out wrong .. i recall all the ads n newsletters they sent out exactly a the the time when many especially the elderly were very worried with so much conflicting vax information being banded around ..

A family member paid for my Moderna vax at BKKUD but i decided to go down the Phizer uni route and luckily transfered the moderna to another person that doesnt mean i should agree how the hospital chose to roll out what im guessing turned out to be a very nice little earner.
Sorry, but when you have a limited supply of something, you give it to those in most need, certainly not those who pay the most [-X Anyone trying to jump the queue over people who needed it far more than them ...... SOM NAM NA
Lets all wear statts flowery hat and sing and skip threw the buttercups in the meadow and toast marshmallows in this utopian world he leaves in.. giving the vax to the most needy WALOB come on wake up smell the bacon the whole vax issue was all about the money from the outset regardless of if someone paid at the BKKUD or had a freebie at the uni follow the money trail.

FWIW Its how the health provider conducted the ""roll out" scared mongering and encouraged payments for limited number of vacs for what at the time was an untested non existent product and then following on with all the lies re covid to keep the coffers coming that makes my piss boil not the fact rich and / or influencial people paid to jump a Q and it backfired.

My 3 free peasant uni Phizer shots have served me well

Well this is the first time I have read a vaccination conspiracy theorist who was happy to get his 3 free jabs at the end. 🤣

I tell you what, those of us from the age of Aquarius who happen to like flowery hats whilst skipping and singing are not the ones out of pocket. We might be in a utopian world thinking that we should look after our poor and at risk first, but at least we can sleep easy at night, safe in the knowledge that perhaps a lesson has been learned by a few of the greedy buggers that have had their fingers burnt and may ( just may) think twice next time. FWIW the Health provider charging for the shots, would not have been able to do so if everyone had told them where to put their vac instead of sticking their hands up and saying "ME FIRST, ME FIRST" every time

When it comes to the early days of vaccine procurement under the excellent management and guidance of Uncle Tu and his cohort, any money that BH made off this 'scam' has probably already been fed upwards to those that facilitated the importation of the "missing" Moderna shots.

I came through Bangkok airport yesterday.

Less than 10 % had masks on on the Plane that I arrived on. Even less on the plane that I departed on.

Only some of the check in staff on the departing airline wore mask.

Saw some in the airport wearing masks, but it certainly was not the majority of the travellers

Well that probably explains the increase in infections then

Little 4 yr old cousin had a high temp yesterday, taken to hospital, tested, positive (for the third time  )

Or the increase could be the tourists coming in

Youngest (never vaccinated) gets a fever, stays home from school and sweats it out. Regular kids medicines and eats jok until his appetite returns and back to school. No testing, nobody else gets sick either and we've got a housefull. The last one to get sick and test positive was last year and they quarantined in the garden shed. Again, nobody else in the household has caught it that we know of.

Yes, I can appreciate that it frequently appears to be very selective with no rhyme or reason why one family gets multiple hits while the house next door misses out.

I'm also concerned with the high dengue fever rates. With the onset of rains, we've been plagued with day and night mossies. Mrs tam has headed up a big sweep of the yard to make sure there's no stagnant water pools or puddles. Loads of typical Isaan junk got taken out for the bin men to dispose of. Also seen some "shrubbery" near the front porch being stripped of leafy growth as the buggers roost in there. Even Yai's sh*t tree near the front gate got stripped of leafy bits and all the broken rubbish she hangs on hooks or wedges in branch forks. Looks a lot nicer.

My wife's son got covid yesterday. The doctor at the hospital in Khon Kaen sent him home to recover as it is full (เต็ม) with mostly covid patients.
