It's understood the Department of Education has reminded staff of their obligations to remain politically neutral and that any teacher found to be in breach of the code of conduct would be subject to appropriate action.

The Department says it doesn’t endorse the activity of the Teachers For Palestine group.

Only reference I can find on this is a commentary from an extreme right wing failed pollie in Sky. Nothing on government websites. Frankly, I have mixed feelings about the naming. All of the original Anzac are long dead, not many WWII vets left either. I like the traditional name, but would not object to it being renamed Veterans Day to show respect for veteran's from all wars.

I note SA government this year increased funding for commemorative activities and received plaudits from the RSL.

Last time I checked Mr Malinauskas was the premier of Sth Oz a Govt in Australia. Aussies hold ANZAC Day sacred and dear , maybe new arrivals dont see it that way. I would like to see albo hold a referendum of removing ANZAC Day, even the Kiwis would come over in war canoes and storm Canberra performing the Haka. And Whistles you would be aware of this,'Under section 109 of the Australian Constitution, if a state parliament and the federal Parliament pass conflicting laws on the same subject, then the federal law overrides the state law. Section 122 of the Constitution allows the federal Parliament to override a territory law at any time.

I like the name 'ANZAC Day', that is my opinion, however if a call was made to call it Veterans Day and supported by a majority of Aussies, I would not be against it.

How about this one from the SA Govt today. On top of erasing Anzac Day, the SA labor party has deleted all traces of Christmas Day from the Holidays Act 1910, but somehow Easter has survived unscathed.
