Sheffield United have sacked Paul Heckingbottom and appointed former manager Chris Wilder as his replacement, the club's owner Prince Abdullah has confirmed.

The Blades are bottom of the Premier League with five points after losing 11 of their opening 14 games.

Speaking to TalkSport, Prince Abdullah said Wilder was "the best guy on planet earth to take over the club right now".

"Chris is very optimistic he can save the season," Prince Abdullah said.

"He doesn't think it's easy, but he thinks it's still possible."

Rice nails the winner in 6 minutes, 35 seconds of the added 6 minutes.

An undeserved win.

In other news, Burnley LOL.

Dwight McNeil scored in Everton's 3-0 win over Newcastle

Dwight McNeil revealed he felt goosebumps as Everton beat Newcastle 3-0 in front of a raucous Goodison Park crowd.

The winger scored the opening goal in the 79th minute before Abdoulaye Doucoure and Beto sealed the crucial win.

Victory saw the Toffees climb out of the relegation zone for the first time since they were docked 10 points last month and McNeil heralded the home atmosphere as crucial in their success.

He said: "It's brilliant to play here.

"You get goosebumps when you stand there and when I get a second I try and take it in because it's amazing. We know how good the fans are.

"They've been through some difficult times recently but they've stuck with us and we really appreciate it.

I hope Evertoon stay up, if only to illuminate the corruption and hypocrisy of the "vaunted" EPL.

Im predicting Alan will be spared his tears and dont think theres much doubt Everton will stay up regardless of the points deduction and the talk of more punishment to come ... just look at the dross currently in the bottom 3 in the EPL and those above in free fall ...a la Forrest etc.

** BTW as added info ... Scunny sit top of the NLN and their premier league push is well under way after another new owner came in and bought not only the club but the ground .. things are on the up and would expect to be playing in the PL within 10 years.

Lord Thunderin' Jaysus, the cheating Evertons are playing some solid soccer lately.

Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer is "stable" after he suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch during the abandoned Premier League match at Bournemouth, his club confirmed.

Both sets of players were taken off midway through the second half as Lockyer received medical treatment.

The 29-year-old was responsive as he was carried off on a stretcher to applause and taken to hospital.

Luton said Lockyer was "stable and currently undergoing further tests".

"Our medical staff have confirmed that the Hatters captain [Tom Lockyer] suffered cardiac arrest on the pitch, but was responsive by the time he was taken off on the stretcher," Luton said.

"He received further treatment inside the stadium, for which we once again thank the medical teams from both sides.

"Tom was transferred to hospital, where we can reassure supporters that he is stable and currently undergoing further tests with his family at his bedside."
