. . . . produced by Norman Whitfield and written by Whitfield and Edward Holland, Jr.
Edward and his brother Brian, along with Lamont Dozier, formed the songwriting and production team known as Holland-Dozier-Holland. They were famously responsible for nearly every song put out by Motown Records during the time that they were there. Sheer brilliance.

A bit of a twist if others are interested in participating. I am guessing most of us have been to the odd live concert/performance/show etc. Some are fantastic, some from great recording artists fall s bit short of expectations. My list, roses and brick batts, all unranked.in exceptionalism and awfulness.

Exceptional

Alice Cooper
Bette Midler
Tina Turner
Rod Stewart
The Drifters
The Commodores
Frank Sinatra
The Luton Boys Choir
Don McLean
Queen
The Jersey Boys (musical)

Less than exceptional

Janis Ian
Sammy Davis Jnr
Fleetwood Mac
Don McLean ( exceptionally awful)
Neil Sedaka
The Who ( so loud everything was distorted)

I''ll bite:

Very good,

Elvis - a tribute
The Doors
Jerry Lee Lewis
Rolling Stones $5/seat in 1964
McKenna-Mendelson Mainline
Sally Yip sih-man
Bo Diddley
John Hammond
Willie Dixon
Gene Vincent
Wilson Pickett
Chuck Berry
Little Richard
Sunaree Ratchasima
Tukatan Chollada
The Who performing Tommy
The Moody Blues
Procul Harem
Janis Joplin
Sonny Terry and Willie McGhee
Jimmy Reed
High School orchestra
............................................................................................................................................

The Worst

Yoko Ono (she sat in a bag and screamed her lungs out)
James Taylor (his voice was weak)
Van Morrison (progressive jazz)
The Mothers of Invention (progressive jazz)
Donovan (between songs he talked about flowers, peace and other hippy-speak)
The Beatles ($10/ ticket in 1964) - screaming drowned out the music
Alice Cooper
Joe Cocker (his voice died out quickly)
