Volcanoes have precious little effect on long term climate. Volcanoes produce 200 million tons of CO2 a year, humans generate 24 BILLION tons a year.
Sure the odd eruption is significant, lile mount Pinatubo, but on average - just a few cow farts.

...and ghost flights.

If only 4 billion humans would stop breathing, their global CO2 contributions would halve.

That will happen with the robot takeover.
We make our world significant by the courage of our questions and by the depths of our answers.

Can Scientists Save the World?

Panorama

Richard Bilton meets the scientists trying to save the world from the consequences of climate change and investigates whether they can really make a difference.

I don't feel confident they can. I am inclined to think nature will either wipe us out or we'll evolve. Man-made solutions seem very optimistic but trivial in comparison with the problem. Still... there's probably money to be made trying, regardless of the outcomes.

While you're pondering that, how about this from earlier this year?
