Re: AirAsia's ASEAN Explorer Pass
I tried to open this in Chrome, after googling a link.
I was hit with all sorts of pop-ups and spam from McAfee and Norton, so just be careful if you are thinking of taking that route.
I have Firefox (which is my primary browser) heavily locked down for privacy, spam and ads, and could only get a virtually blank page.
As suggested in the OP, the app appears to be the way to go. There seems to be numerous caveats, including the fact that the Pass covers only the base fare, and not all the add-on charges such as taxes and fees.

Re: AirAsia's ASEAN Explorer Pass
My friend in the US forwarded the link and it is heavy with built-in ads which is covered in the opening comment if the article, as follows:
Post may contain affiliate links; we may receive compensation if you click links to those products. This may impact how offers are presented. Our site does not include all offers available. See our Disclosure & Privacy Policy for more info.Content on page accurate as of posting date.
Beyond that I had no security issues with four different browsers including Chrome and FF but agree the adverts are annoying rather than malicious, especially on the phone. That's why i recommended the app instead.
BTW, having Norton AND McAfee running concurrently isn't recommended, more so if it's their free stuff. They end up flagging each other and instilling unnecessary panic and confusion. I gave up on them and the likes of AVG, Kaspersky and Bitdefender ages ago when they grew into bloat ware "suites" that wanted to do things already being done quite capably by other stuff. I only run Window's own Defender and a paid installation of Malwarebytes now. Haven't caught (or spread) anything since.

Re: AirAsia's ASEAN Explorer Pass
Your link is fine on the browser on my lappy.
This is the one google threw up when I googled "Airasia Asean explorer pass" https://www.airasia.com/unlimited/en/gb
As I wrote above, open with caution, particularly in Chrome.

Re: AirAsia's ASEAN Explorer Pass
I had a look yesterday. It's a good deal if you're travelling, say, once a month but, as JS says, its base fare only so, once you add on extras, it's probably not worth it for my 5 or 6 trips to BKK, Phuket etc. I'll stick to Thai Smile with their luggage allowance.

I'm not sure if Thai Smile is still operating.samster wrote: ↑May 10, 2024, 5:51 amI had a look yesterday. Re: AirAsia's ASEAN Explorer Pass
As of Jan 2024, Thai Smile is gone, merged back into the new, lean and super profitable flagship Thai Airways International.
