BKK to USA
BKK to USA
There are a myriad of options, enough to do your head in. Traveling Bangkok to San Francisco 13th September back 25th September, Business Class unless price is outrageous, prefer fastest journey time. You experienced American travelers, any recommendations?

You need to start a travel business at those prices

Re: BKK to USA
I agree.
The cheapest I was able to find for business class on those dates was THB 123,615 on Philippine Airlines (change planes in Manila), 124,720 on Air India (change planes in Delhi). For a real airline, with food and service that's actually good, Starlux at 130,270, changing planes in Taipei.
Re: BKK to USA
Those are economy class prices noosard quoted. .
Re: BKK to USA
SQ SIN-IAH r/t via MAN.
Premium Economy ~67,000 baht.
No need for Business Class prices.
You'll thank me for it.

Kenny "Those are economy class prices noosard quoted. ."
Two comments How would you know that he was quoting Economy, or isnt he able to speak for himself?
Second I didnt realize he had a reading problem as Whistle was asking for Business Class prices , if I am not mistaken

I’m not knocking anyone, I just stated that the prices that were quoted were for economy class, not business class.Doodoo wrote: ↑May 11, 2024, 7:57 pmKenny "Those are economy class prices noosard quoted. ."

If I could get those prices for business class that’s all I would fly.

USD 3757 gets you United Polaris Class between NRT and LAX on UA website
Upside is Polaris Class is pretty good in my experience
Downside is the LAX being the first port of entry then a domestic flight albeit in First. Another is the ANA flight to NRT. Those ANA flights are hit and miss as they can screw up a nice Dreamliner with crappy old Business Class seats but it is not each flight.
USD 3586 for Qatar (using American Airlines web site to book)
Upside is if you can verify QSuite on the long flights (sorry, didnt look that far) If its standard Biz class I would go with the United Polaris if it were me.
Downside added stop in DFW or JFK
I really enjoy the Q-Suites but you must ensure the flights have the retroffitted aircraft buy using Qatar's website or seatguru.com to verify the config. My second favorite is Polaris Class on United.
TIPS:
When browsing on United's site check carefully if all seats are in Business or First. They often slip in an economy on part of the journey to show cheaper ticket prices.
Tokyo NRT lounges have shower rooms so after checking in, I would always go straight to the shower lady and book the shower before even sitting down to get in the queue
Another tip is moving the flight dates a little before outbound and after return dates if you dont see exactly the type of seat you want. I've done that trip over 100 times. After about 40 round trips in economy and dreading the journey each month, I switched to Buisness and began to look forward to the flight for the sleep and reading/movie time.
Happy trails

Re: BKK to USA
Was the outrageous part I used
The other point is not hard to use skyscanner page or something similar to find flights
Dont have to use that but gives an idea on prices for economy or outrageous

Re: BKK to USA
If Premium Economy is now on the table then its hard to beat EVA Air who I think invented that class of service:

THB 61,680 and short layovers

Just wondering if the THB 67,000 price Tamada quoted was only THB 37,000 as you thought?
Or was it closer to THB 67,000 in the end?
Sometimes I like to complete the info loop and find out what the outcome was to, you know, ensure future advice is updated for the greater knowledge base.

Re: BKK to USA
It's 30 odd thousand each way, 60 to 70 return depending on airline. Eva is interesting as it has three levels of premium economy with a fare price spread between each level. I will decide in next few days but am thinking starlux

Right. I tend to think, and get quotes, in RT pricing not each way pricing. Changes the perception dramatically. Good luck in your quest.

Re: BKK to USA
What sort of layover or gate or terminal change on Starlux at TPE? I have read reviews that it's not a very 'welcoming' airport for those in transit.

Dunno, it's years since I was in Taiwan, but never as a transit passenger. I found Changi very difficult last week, very few information desks, and none for MRT. Impressive of course, but hard to find your way around
