Hah! Knighthood for our Gareth soon as England's most deliveringest team manager ever. He's still young too so a good chance for further glories...as long as he starts bloody Harry "Walthamstow Ronaldo" Kane from the bench. Too many pinpoint deliveries into the 6-yard box last night, ending up in another "where's Harry?" moment. Wasn't even allowed to f*ck up the penalties.

So, the Dutch up next. Probably half-a-dozen of their probable starters ply their trade in the EPL. That could make for a more dynamic bit of to-and-fro with the Englanders and a cut-and-dried win in regulation.

Better performance by England but IMO still lacked that creative cutting edge still a win is a win and gotta take that.

All 5 penalty takers were excellent.

Holland in the semis and again too close to call ... best team in the competition from the outset have been Spain but could France get to the final having not scored a goal in open play ???

Whatever happens SOUTHGATE OUT

Is there a bar where you can look the game in the night?
I remember from 2010 that some bars are aloud to open in the night.

Both semi's (and the final) kick-off will be at 2 am, local time. Not sure if any bars are allowed to operate that late, especially mid-week.

I presume the 2300 kick offs are shown in all bars ... the 0200 possibly late late night Thai places so not so easy to watchthe semis as they are 0200 KOs as Tam already stated..

Ive been watching via Ch 36 on Thai tv vis my PC and changing commentary to English .. the Euro tournament game rights are sponsored here by Aerosoft footwear Co as was the last World Cup.

Southgate for President, I mean, Prime Minister. The Dutch will be home in time for the glorious twelfth. Kane is able.

When a "soft" penalty is awarded against England, the pundits are all over the ref, VAR and ultimately Southgate. When England wins a "soft" penalty call, they go all quiet.

Then this.

When England wins the final, this pillock will be saying Kane shouldn't have been given a penalty in the semi.

Shades of the 'Hand of God'. These types of questionable decisions along with games and championships won via the penalty route make it difficult for true followers of sport, such as baseball, to take soccer seriously.

Well he scored a few from inside the box. I think the statistic refers to the final itself at the 2 tournaments.

Once is certainly more than any Scottish player has touched the ball on the whole pitch in the history of major finals (or semi finals/quarter finals for that matter) ever.

I think we can give Englands greatest ever striker a bit of leeway.

Anyone that "knows anything about football" should also know that simply being England's bestest ever and Bayern's golden boy doesn't mean diddly squat when you can't win any silverware. Was he "feeding on scraps" in the WC and Euro qualifiers?

Kane scored 12 goals in the 2022 WC qualifiers, but only got 2 in the finals.
Kane scored 8 goals in the 2024 Euro qualifiers, but only got 3 in the finals.

At least he got the 'Golden Boot" award... along with 5 other much, much more impressive and impactful players.

Did you know that Alan Shearer changed his style of play when he started getting a bit past it, and he still managed to score goals and extend his usefulness? I bet Vincent is already sh*ting bricks for the new Bundesliga season.

I dont really need to get into a debate on the merits of Kane. I was simply pointing out the glaring error in your initial comment. However, I've said before, I love debating football even when it's with wind up merchants. So, just to set the record straight:-

- No, he wasnt feeding on scraps in the qualifiers. He was playing inferior teams. Even so, a goals per game ratio of nearly 50% on minutes played in the 2024 euros is hardly a failure. Ask Mbappe or Ronaldo.

- Only Olmo of the 6 players on 3 goals had a more "impactful" tournament than Kane. Kanes goals directly influenced 3 of the results that took England to the final.

- Yeah, I know plenty about Shearer and his style of play. I was playing golf with a few of his team mates a month or so back. He rightly still rates Kane extremely highly.

Injury permitting, Kane will still be Englands first choice striker for the next 2 tournaments. He is an exceptional talent who wasnt at his best for the past month partly due to the system imposed by the manager. That isn't a dig at Southgate by the way. The system nearly worked.

With the exception of inferior teams themselves, every team is playing "inferior" teams (like Iceland) in the qualifiers.

Of the 6 golden booters for this year, the most impactful would easily be Georges Mikautadze from the "inferior" Georgia, who are ranked 74 by FIFA.
