And that's a big part of how he added a staggering $8.4 trillion to the debt. The bulk of it, $3.6 trillion, came from COVID relief laws and executive orders, $2.5 trillion from tax cut laws for billionaires like Bezos and Elon (who already receive government welfare ie. subsidies), and $2.3 trillion from spending increases (although Trump didn't get his border moat filled with snakes and alligators).

But when you're in a cult you can ignore this stuff.

As I recall, after the initial fear mongering by the media and several weeks to stop the spread (as he was advised by Fauci and Burks), Trump left lockdowns up to each state's governor to decide. Even Politico, which is not a fan of Trump, wrote about it:
