UK vacation visit travel insurance

Post by tamada » July 27, 2024, 3:53 pm

My kiwi mate's 22-year-old daughter is heading to the UK for a 5 week holiday, staying with her old school chum.

He was asking for any recommendations for travel insurance for this one-off trip.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If she has a MasterCard credit card they do it 90 days for free. Have no idea what the coverage is but maybe worth looking into. Can be activated online through her bank access. I have done it on a number of occasions but never claimed.

He's gone with MSIG which he has used before Covid for family vacations.

For that trip, I’d suggest checking out World Nomads or SafetyWing for travel insurance. I used World Nomads when I went abroad last year, and they were super easy to deal with. Just make sure she looks at the coverage details, especially for medical stuff and trip cancellations. It’s also helpful to read some reviews to get a feel for their customer service, just in case anything comes up while she's away.
