political pundits at the moment. The question was also raised on Australian TV (ABC) today. Politicians are always honest with the voting public aren't they?

I was watching Gutfeld on Fox (as you do) and they spent one segment of the show playing old sleepy Joe gaffes and having a right old giggle. Pithy stuff.

I notice that the awful British author, conservative political commentator, cultural critic, journalist and general pillock-around-town Douglas Murray was a guest. With his ridiculous silver highlights, it made his head look like a frosted Christmas tree bauble which pretty much matched his utterances.

I have heard the comment that lies have travelled around the world before truth has even laced up.its shoes. Very applicable to some members on this forum.

Examples of the Dunning-Kruger effect where people with limited knowledge of a given topic significantly overestimate their understanding.

I have seen this on threads particularly on things like climate change, the origin of COVID, vaccination efficacy, the barrier reef, sea level rises to a huge extent, but many other subjects as well. An app called blinkist has been recommended for those who wish to comment on controversial subjects. A useful tool for those that seek the truth rather than fringe opinions that typically can be debunked with a minimal amount of research.

My view, if it is a fringe theory on any subject, don't readily believe that theory until you really understand the subject.

I am anricipating the naysayers on here trying to twist this as another personal attack. I suggest before they succumb to
that temptation, they find one single post where I have promoted a fringe theory.

Must have been one of the shortest tenures of a federal government department. I certainly missed it at the time. Either ill conceived or wrongly named but the right wing got most upset about the whole notion of the Disinformation Governance Board. It has been described as being the victim of the disinformation it was supposed to filter out.
