Re: Hezbollah Humiliated
Hezbollah has been caught with their pants down standing in doodoo of their own making on more than one occasion.
Good analysis there tamada although one wonders why no one has thought of creating a Hezbollah-Israel thread yet.
As far as Stewart is concerned, he's just an above average comedian who can articulate controversial political points well. In other words, don't look to him if you want Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, George Gobel or George Formby type humour.

"Do you even hear yourself?"Escalate to de-escalate - FFSJon Stewart called out the “cognitive dissonance and language calisthenics” used when describing Israel‘s attacks against Hezbollah. On Monday’s episode, the Daily Show host offered a “golden soundbite” to explain how “flucking convoluted this has to be.”
From what's being shown, the Lebanese civilians are following the warnings from Israel and evacuating to open spaces where it's impossible for Hezbollah militia to infiltrate and thus be targeted. If they chose to stay in tower blocks with deep basements that can be used as Hezbollah war rooms, then sorry if some dishes get broken when a bunker bomb is dropped. It appears that the militant's offence is limited to their diminishing stock of missiles while IDF forces mass on the border.
This in contrast to Gaza where the locals repeatedly "evacuate" from one hospital to the next school or UN facility, where the militants can easily blend in and guess what? Shock and horror when innocent women and children are killed. There's this idea that there are no safe and open spaces in Gaza but when foreign media is banned, who can argue with the claims that the population is forced by Hamas, under all sorts if threats and retribution, to be their human shield.
Of course Hamas's and Hezbollah's armed forces are structured differently with the former embedding themselves within the population whereas the latter have been allowed to create a regular army that's far bigger and better armed than the Lebanese armed forces. An open state within a state.
Hezbollah claims to be fighting for the restoration of Lebanese land which, if I am not mistaken, Israel did not create but only inherited from an unresolved border dispute between Lebanon and Syria, a situation that was created before any Israeli incursions and "occupation".
As much as I like Jon Stewart, yes it is "flucking convoluted" but it has been already been that for a very, very long time.

I did consider a separate thread for the looming conflict with Lebanon but deferred until it really kicks off. That doesn't prevent anyone else from creating one though. It's a public forum and being or making the OP doesn't confer any thread control or ownership.

For those who condemn Israel for attacking civilian targets, the recent strike in Lebanon shows what is really going on. First, the IDF warned the residents of the three apartment buildings to evacuate immediately. Can any of the Hamas or Hezbollah apologists here identify any other military force in history which has done that in an attempt to keep civilian casualties low? And it turns out that Hezbollah headquarters actually was under the civilian apartment buildings. As I've said many times, Hamas, and now we know Hezbollah as well, embeds in the civilian population, and uses the civilian population as human shields. I could be mistaken, but IIRC that, by itself, is a war crime. Where's the International Court of Justice?

Yes, it's an established fact that terrorists in the Middle East use schools, hospitals, apartment buildings and other areas inhabited by innocent civilians to store weapons and establish operation centers.Udon Map wrote: ↑September 30, 2024, 5:53 amFor those who condemn Israel for attacking civilian targets, the recent strike in Lebanon shows what is really going on. It's long overdue for Hamas and Hezbollah to be crushed into a fine powder. I support the IDF.

Will never happen as it goes back to Religion. We (except one person) find that there are hundreds of followings that wish to crush the Jews and when one is removed another appears.

Reports coming in from the trusted news service, 'Sky News' the IDF has started a bombardment by heavy artillery into southern Lebanon. The targets are hezbollah strongholds and weapon cache's. This may be the start of a ground offensive against the [terrorists]. Stay safe IDF, winning winning.

Horrible.
But yet the self proclaimed Progressives say that Israel's response is way out of proportion to the absolute savagery shown in the 5 hour killing spree of 1200 innocent people.

Transplanting this Telegraph IDF puff piece from Lebanon, to Gaza, the fortunate Tele reporter should be thankful his fully IDF guided and closely supervised visit into Lebanon wasn't anything like what is happening to independent reporters still trying to do their important work in Gaza - despite being clearly targetted by the IDF for assassination.

Even a very senior Fox News correspondent can see what is happening, and calling it out.

There are no independent reporters in Gaza. That are all Hamas approved.jackspratt wrote: ↑October 15, 2024, 10:30 amTransplanting this Telegraph IDF puff piece from Lebanon, to Gaza, the fortunate Tele reporter should be thankful his fully IDF guided and closely supervised visit into Lebanon wasn't anything like what is happening to independent reporters still trying to do their important work in Gaza - despite being clearly targetted by the IDF for assassination.

Just how are the IDF clearly targeting reporters, do they walk about with massive PRESS notices on their body armour.?
Perhaps an imagination working overtime.

God give us strength.
Virtually all (if the numbers plucked out of the air are true) are local Palestinians, they are 'working' in a war zone where people continue to die because of the heroic Hamas fighters mingle with and use the population as Human Shields. To claim that the IDF deliberately seek out reporters for assassination is just absurd. The IDF are not going to use expensive accurate munitions to take out a reporter or two, they are embedded with the filth that represents Hamas so are just collateral damage.
Re: Israel under attack from hamas, war declared.
A good hit. Israel has confirmed the death of hamas terrorist leader yahya sinwar in what has been described as a "great military and moral achievement."
Re: Israel under attack from hamas, war declared.
And when did his replacement show up? Probably within seconds of his death. Hamaz will never be beaten. They replace their leaders immediately as any government does
Re: Israel under attack from hamas, war declared.
Not really the same Doodoo, government replacements dont immediately become No1 on top of the most wanted kill or capture list.
The IDF/ Israeli secret services are doing a great job in eliminating the leadership of both proxy terror groups that Iran control.
Bit of a poisoned chalice getting a promotion wouldn't you say.
Re: Israel under attack from hamas, war declared.
Religious fanaticism aside, at some point some of these Hamas/Hezbollah/Islamic Jihad folks are going to start thinking that they'd prefer to live, and that living is better than dying for the cause.
Israel has guaranteed immediate protection from Hamas by the IDF and safe passage out of Gaza to anyone there who turns over any of the hostages. It will be interesting to see if anyone takes them up on that.
