Fridge repair

Post by tamada » October 7, 2024, 8:31 am

I have a cheap, fairly new 4 liter TCL fridge that has died. I bought it locally. Does anyone know if the current team of technicians at Amorn are capable? I have read that their ability and turnaround depends on who they've hired and, like mechanics at garages, and school teachers, the good ones follow the money.

Otherwise, anyone have a name/number for a fridge repair guy, preferably on the east side of town, it would be appreciated.

Just to add, the compressor has a 10-year warranty so if i can find the paperwork, I could pursue total replacement as at 4690 baht, it's probably not worth repairing but I haven't found any local TLC repair or representation.

I asked for a double Jack Daniels on a Continental BusinessFirst flight from Rio to Houston. I had ordered cornflakes but had already drank the glass of milk, so I put the whiskey in the cereal instead.

I found the receipt for the fridge, bought at HomePro last February, so Mrs tam called their hotline. They said they will send a repairman over on Wednesday but expect to pay something as it's past the 1-year basic warranty. I think the compressor's shot and there's a big decal on the door of the fridge that says the compressor has a 10-year warranty.

Well, almost a month has passed since the repairman was a no-show, and I've resisted buying a new fridge. Yesterday, HomePro call the missus and says they will send someone over with a new fridge and replace this one and that this 'someone' will be in touch directly.

Waiting...

Update: Yesterday a chap with TCL paperwork came to check on the dead fridge. He confirmed that the compressor was toast. Since that has a 10 year warranty, he strapped it up in old packing cases, attaching a copy of the fault repair on top and advises that "someone" will be along presently to remove it and replace it with a new one.

So, maybe next month?

Can always use another beer fridge in the nail salon, right?
