Bread

Post by JamesMichael » January 16, 2025, 7:23 am

Can somebody recommend a place I can buy a good loaf of bread? I am getting tired of 7/11 bread and Tesco Lotus bread kind of floppy stuff cut too thin.

There are a few bakeries (Guldbagaren, Little Loaf, Good Days) on Prajak Road between Soi Samphan and Thongyai Road.

Those little bread making machines are easily available and your own recipes are able to make bread any way you choose.

I get my various bread fixes from both the new West side Makro and C2MU ... Sourdough , Multi grain , white toasting loaves and burger buns always fresh and available...

Butter is the killer for me yet to find anything i like other than the Lurpak from C2MU which is marvelous ..alas a tad peng.

On butter, makro used to carry a German brand that was very good, but not available for a few years already. Most foreign brands at makro are made locally or regionally under license and not comparable with their namesakes on their home markets.

Tops has Westgold from New Zealand that's a bit bland but acceptable, both salted and unsalted. Also seen at Big C Nittayo and Villa.

Tops also has Coles butter from Australia, both varieties.

I've also seen Bega Australian butter at Tops and (unless I'm confusing it with Coles) also been seen infrequently at C2MU.

Anyone checked the dairy aisle at Go yet?

There is a bakery sponsor on the UM front page " Monnaie " Japanese bakery. Looks like specialty breads and pastries.
Anyone tried their bread?
