Canadians cancel US vacations in protest of Trump tariffs

But tourists choosing to go elsewhere could have a significant economic effect for American states such as Maine, Florida, California and Arizona, all popular with Canadians. Trump has agreed to hold off imposing tariffs on Canada and Mexico for 30 days, pulling the North American neighbors back from the brink of a potentially damaging trade war, but some of the damage may have already been done.

The United States is not a democracy. In fact, the word 'democracy' is not mentioned once in the US Constitution. Additionally, the Framers took great pains to ensure that the US Republic would be a threat to mob rule democracy.

The United States is a Constitutional Republic, which is based on the rule of law codified within the US Constitution.
Yes, whereas Canada, Australia and New Zealand got the 19th century form of British Government, the U.S.A. got the 18th century form of British Government. In other words, the former colonies have a constitutional monarchy, and the latter former colony has an absolute monarchy (Federal Republic). No-one should be surprised that Trump is acting like George III. He can continue to do so as long as the House of Representatives/Senate cannot find the will or the means to stop him.

Quotation: "George III
As K-i-n-g of Great Britain during the American Revolution, George III has become to many Americans a byword for tyranny and the arrogance of the old European aristocracy. The popular musical Hamilton, for instance, portrays the K-i-n-g as a vain figure."
We make our world significant by the courage of our questions and by the depths of our answers.

Three branches of government based on the rule of law and with checks and balances is nowhere near a monarchy.

But you can have whatever opinion you wish. You'd still be wrong about the United States form of government.

They should curb their impatience, and save their C$ for a holiday on the Trump Riviera. ;)

It may take a couple more years for the IDF to complete the task they have been undertaking for the past 15 months, but with Trump's clear nod and wink, and a big push from Defence Minister Israel Katz, ethnic cleansing appears to be achievable.

Very specific narrowing of the debate, Declan - no surprise there.

Let's start with the 14th Amendment, of your sacred constitution.

Or will SCOTUS once again bow to the will of the Skidmark-in-Chief?

So far, Federal courts have suspended the Musk team's ability to insert new code into government systems, and have also suspended Trump's buyout offer to get rid of civil service employees.

Temporary halts to Executive Action by lower courts, regarding powers by the POTUS that SCOTUS has ruled on previously, are not permanent suspensions. Nor are they violations of law.

SCOTUS will have the final say. Again.

Remarks regarding Trumps first 3 weeks in office 2025

"Like I'm tied to a chair while watching a toddler play with a gun."

"It feels like I'm a child in my father's car while he has road rage and is flipping everybody else off while provoking them with his careless drunk driving."

"Two weeks in, and I am becoming a staunch Democrat. Between pardons, tariffs, and blaming a plane crash on diversity hiring, I am embarrassed to be an American."

Updates and More to Come!

Put your fantastic research skills to work. All uncovered by DOGE and new cabinet members.

=====

A Canadian electric bus manufacturer that @EPA had awarded $160M in tax dollars is now filing for bankruptcy.

$95,000,000 in buses across 55 school districts remain undelivered!

=====

Liz Cheney worked for USAID
Barack Obama's mom worked for USAID
The Clinton Foundation received money from USAID
The Biden family received money from USAID (Burisma).
The Bush's received money from USAID.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee was in oversight of USAID.
USAID is a sub-silo of the CIA

Supporters of USAID/CIA are not happy!

=====

USAID awarded $18.5 million to “a program of work named gender equality for climate change opportunities.”

=====

USAID funneled $27 million to Black Lives Matter through the Tides Foundation.

=====

USAID awarded $84 million to Chelsea Clinton, which was to go to Haiti.
$3 million traced to Chelsea's wedding. $10 million traced to mansion purchase.

=====

US taxpayer dollars have supported foreign competition of domestic shrimpers
Fishermen and shrimpers in the United States have been in a decades-long battle with the very institutions meant to protect them, specifically the U.S. Treasury Department and its World Bank delegation.

=====

USAID awarded $47,000 for a Drag Queen Opera in Colombia

=====

USAID awarded $607 Million Promoting Abortion Worldwide

=====

Democrats want the IRS to audit Americans for a $600 Venmo payment to their bank account, but when Trump wants to audit the trillion dollar government — they’re ready to storm the castle. The government’s been robbing Americans blind. US taxpayers have been writing checks for tourism in Egypt, to help BBC value the diversity of Libyan society, Iraqi Sesame Street, an Armenian LGBT group, a DEI Irish musical, and for Guatemalan trans surgeries.

Democrats call all of this “aid,” but it's money laundering.

=====

USAID federal tax dollars to Leftist media narratives:
Politico: $34.3M
NY Times: $50M
AP: $19.5M
Reuters: $9M
BBC: $3.3M

=====

USAID funded 90% of Ukraine media as an insurance policy to cover up billions in corrupt “aid” with controlled opposition media.

=====

"As it turns out, most of the crazy "news" we've consumed for years and years was nothing but tax-funded agitprop. Good to know. It's actually rather comforting because I did want to believe that editors and journalists could be that STUPID."
- Jeffrey A. Tucker

=====

If Democrats hadn’t illegally spied on Trump, undermined Trump’s presidency, stole the 2020 election, arrested Trump, charged Trump, indicted Trump, gagged Trump, censored Trump, raided Trump’s private residence, jailed Trump’s supporters, attempted to remove Trump from state ballots, and tried to kill Trump, none of this would be happening.

FAFO

=====

Today, 78 contracts were terminated for convenience across DEI, Non-Performing, Media, and Consulting categories, including one for “groundwater exploration and assessment in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.”

Approximately $110mm of total savings.
Source: DOGE

=====

Democrats wanted every single line of Trump's tax returns released to the American People. They demanded transparency.

Democrats want DOGE STOPPED from releasing all federal government expenditures to the American People. They demand government security.

Cognitive Dissonance is rampant among the Left.

=====

The CIA is the backroom kitchen. The State Department was the restaurant front. USAID was VIP Delivery.

USAID awarded $68 million in federal tax revenue to the World Economic Forum.

It will be easier for you if you stop believing everything you read and look for actual evidence. I'm not going to debunk every claim in your post, but a few are quick and easy.

Of course, President Trump is quite familiar with the bankruptcy laws, he uses them regularly to avoid financial obligations.

It is only a one week administrative stay in the execution of the EO and will lapse after one week, if not reinstated by this particular Court.

The view appears to be that as POTUS he has the authority, as POTUS to implement the EO, its just a question about the procedure to implement. Its not the first time an EO has been challenged over the administration procedure and it probably won't be the last, by groups finding a sympathetic judge.

Trump Cancels Biden.jpg

Along with other former federal government employees and former cabinet members, Trump has cancelled the security clearance of Joe Biden. His own DOJ characterized him as unfit to stand trial for his mishandling of classified materials.
