Thing is I've struggled to find much information about Ukraine's rare earth's. How much do they actually have?.
Are they actually worth mining. Like there is gold just about everywhere on the planet, much of which is not worth the effort of recovering. Looking up it seems china has 40% of the reserves, and the list goes on , Thailand, Myanmar are on the list, America is on the list with 5% But Ukraine must be low as no information at all.
I agree, Europe has no oil, coal , uranium. Be good to get our hands on them for sure. Just need to fight to the last Ukrainian and then help them out by snatching their resources once they are crushed.

The US owes NOTHING to any of the participants in this war. Neither of them are allies.

Zelensky has a plan, but it's NOT Trump's plan.

If you look closely at the demand by Ukraine for US troops as the contingency for “security guarantees” the outline of a scheme is clear.

It’s a trap to put US boots on the ground and continue a forever war. As soon as US troops enter the equation on the ground in Russia, particularly as the buffer force in the point of conflict between Ukrainian and Russian military, Zelensky has already proven he doesn't want peace. If US troops are killed or drawn into combat, an escalated war against Russia becomes the beginning of no end to the conflict.

It doesn’t need to be Russia attacking US-led NATO troops, it only needs to be the impression of Russia attacking to create the narrative. The global intelligence network is very skilled at creating the optics of conflict and assigning blame to the wrong actors. This is what they have done in the past in various regional conflicts in order to achieve the result.

Trump instinctively knows the Zelensky demand for US troops as the security guarantee is dangerous; it pulls us deeper into the possibility of conflict. The US industrial military complex would love to see our military involved in Ukraine, and the overwhelming membership of the US political deep state also support it.

Trump appears to be fundamentally against the proposition for US military involvement. If he puts boots on the ground there or continues to fund this idiocy, at least half of Trump's political base will call him out. They are sick of uXXXkraine and Zelensky.

Starmer is meeting with EU leaders today, presumably to initiate a discussion of an EU security force that would form the peacekeeping group to secure a ceasefire. However, Starmer consistently says the US backstop is needed to protect the EU forces in the event the ceasefire doesn’t hold.

Starmer is hard of hearing. Trump told him what the US role would be.

There wasn't much chance of any "US backstop" that will satisfy Zelenskyyyyyyyyy or the EU; but because of the way they're going about it, I'd bet money that there will be NO backstop with this European plan to send their sons and daughters into the meat grinder.

Not a good look to have media present in the Oval Office during tense discussions between DJT and Zelensky. Would the same tone prevail in front of the media if it involved DJT and Putin. I think not.

If the EU is paying any attention, they should collectively, and quickly negotiate and sign the same Ukrainian rare earth materials "deal" that Trump craves. Then, if America really wants them, they need to provide iron-clad security guarantees, including much more materiel, and whatever else is needed to ensure Ukraine doesn't totally succumb to Russia.
