nok air afternoon flight today

Post by slaphappy » September 24, 2007, 3:05 pm

Visiting my girlfriend up in Udon, chose afternoon flight today.I had a window seat and bloody hell the plane landed so heavily knocked down 3 of the supports for your masks.A few farang looked a bit shocked. I know Nok air planes are old but why try and brake the undercarriage!
Think I will stick with Thai airways for my future visits from now on.

If it was raining or the runway was wet, the Pilots are trained to hit the Tarmac hard to break through the water and prevent aquaplaning. If he put the engines in reverse thrust to slow it down, also to aviod skidding  scarey sometimes, but good to be alive after

Understand where you are coming from Aardvark, strong sun here in Udon today,no rain. We departed by the walkway normally for Thai only, maybe so they did not want us to look at the wheels or lack of them when disembarking.
I think the pilot had his altimeter off by 20 feet or just his landing skills were lacking today.Still a bit shocked though.
Wanted to be controversial and say bloody women drivers/pilots but Nok air probably does not have any.
