Yes - the Gammon Steak is indeed delicious - to me the best item that they have on the menu. Good bargain too at 150 Baht.

And of course - tomorrow is their famous roast dinners - for 170 Baht. Best I have found in Udon so far.

I would just like to say that i enjoyed my stay at the clock last month, ate there most days and liked the food a lot.
Rooms were also very nice and clean, with Wifi in room just topping it off, my only problem with udon was that i did not know anybody(apart from my girl) so i did get bored at times.
If i find myself back in Udon anytime, will be back to see you at the clock.

I visited the Irish Clock last night for the first time since Marlee and Steve took over. The meal and surroundings were good and economical but I could not get far enough away from the smokers to really enjoy my time there. Airconditioning, filtration and signs were not enough to stop the cloud.

Revisited the Irish Clock today after returning from Nong Khai. I thought now that the human fogging machine is in China I would try it again.

I had the small English breakfast, egg, bacon, baked beans, grilled tomato and sausage and a glass of orange???? juice.

The ordered poached egg turned up fried and the orange????? juice took up half the glass. The rest was ice and 50 baht a go.

I honestly cannot see what there is to rave about there.

As for the juice I usually find this with any drink anywhere here, even if it is Pepsi in KFC. I usually specify no ice. I like the breakfast big or small. The eggs are done how I like them and not cremated, the bacon and sausages are tasty and more like home instead of those pink widow's memories that you normally get here. Also you get a free refill with your coffee.

agree with Irish alan regarding the ice in drinks, ask for no ice that way you should get a full glass and the juice should be chilled anyway if its made in advance, even in KFC ask for no ice and never assume anything in los, and 'fresh oj' always seems pang anywhere you go...you think it would be cheap seeing as they grow on trees without much love and affection and time and effort put in by the grower.
:)

if you order poached you should get poached, but sometimes its not always as simple as that as we all know.
would of said something regarding the eggs and i am sure the problem would have been sorted.

Like any special offer, you do not necessarily get anything in lieu. "No cash will be offered in lieu of this prize." :D

I seen the egg thing happen before and it was just crossed wires. 2 guys sitting at tables near each other each getting a small breakfast and it was quite busy. They were not too put out and had tucked in when they began chatting and realised their brekkies had got muxed up. Begorrah and bejaysus sure it could happen with the pope.

P.S. My only criticism as an Irishman is the backwards clock and "Top of the mornin' and leprechauns on the menu... AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!

   I should have known... PRINTED on the menu.

Note: Top of the mornin' was believed to have been spoken for the last time in Ireland circa 1875 in the ar5ehole of Co. Kerry. The only people that say it in Ireland today are Chinese people that watched Finian's Rainbow and The Quiet Man as part of their research before departing for The Emerald Isle.
