Thai - Domestic fare changes DMK-UTH

Post by JimboPSM » October 12, 2007, 5:47 am

I have just booked a domestic Thai flight and found they have a new pricing system; there are now four types of Economy fare and two types of Business fare, the tax on the fare I booked was 555 baht, assuming that the tax is the same on all fares the one way costs for each would be as follows:
  • Economy
    1,295 + 555 = 1,850 - Hot Deals
    1,555 + 555 = 2,110 - Saver
    2,070 + 555 = 2,625 - Flex Saver
    2,330 + 555 = 2,885 - Flex Saver Plus

    Business
    2,870 + 555 = 3,425 - Royal Silk Flexible
    3,585 + 555 = 4,140 - Royal Silk Full Flex
Warning, before anyone takes these fares as being written in tablets of stone, I only looked at one day, the fares may differ on a daily basis and also if a return flight is booked.

Do your own research before you book and check that you can comply with the conditions, lower price fares often cannot be changed or refunded.

Is this a fare quote for Nok Air? If so, the price has gone up since August/September. And Nok Air used to have different fares based on the time of day one flies with the cheapest fare for the 6 in the morning flight.

It was for Thai Airways, the fares for each type were the same for the morning, afternoon and evening flights.

I booked online from the UK at: I have heard (but don't know as an actual fact) that there are some travel agents in Thailand that do have special deals with Thai Airways - but I don't know who they are and have never used them.

Different prices for the same seat will normally relate to the flexibility that you have to change your flight dates or cancel and get a refund on your ticket.

At one extreme, the cheapest ticket may not allow any changes or refund if unable to travel on the flight as originally booked.

At the other extreme, the most expensive ticket may allow changes and a full refund for an unused ticket.

You need to understand the possible risks and costs before deciding which is the "cheapest" option for your own circumstances.

When booking a ticket you should always check the conditions before you buy - and it is also advisable to have appropriate travel insurance.

the cheaper options are still there on the Thai site, it says on the 'Hot Deals' conditions that the ticket is valid for 1 month, so does it mean you can only book one month in advance for that hot deal ticket ?
you can't change anything on the(hot deal) ticket !! no refunds no nothing.... and can/has anyone got these prices in a agent in Thailand or are they on-line prices only ?

Just returned to BKK last week ( 7 Dec ) on pricing the flight at BKK on that day for a flight on 9th Dec was quoted 1950 Baht o/w on Nok DMK-UTH, But decided to book at DMK on day of travel, which WAS the same flight the DD 9210 ( Lunchtime ) flight and was informed the price had gone up to 2250 Baht,THAT IS A RIP-OFF An increase of 300 Baht in 36 Hours !!! So I KNOW That NOK-AIR is NOT a cheap way to fly.....Mind you the aircraft was on a lease from XL Airways in the U.K And had an English Captain, and 1st Officer PLUS A Scotish inflight puser,( I Just wonder were THEY on British Salaries ??? ) Then IF SO Maybe this is why the flight was SO expensive...Just a THOUGHT !!! :mad:Also having just come back from Overseas,We were obviously in a "Overweight Baggage " Situation,So Nok-Air NOT content with their exhorbetent ( Sorry about the spelling ) had the BLOODY NERVE to T**T me with a 500 Baht excess baggage charge,Must have been the WRONG time of the month for THE NOK check in girl at DMK......O.K I have now finished SLATING Nok-Air.....I Will get the Bloody train next time to Bangkok... [-X : :( :?

What's the eco baggage limit on Thai?
I got nailed for 600 baht on Air asia for excess baggage also, 15kg limit.
Remember somewhere a Thai booking agent telling me 30kgs in eco, might as well pay 1850B then

The overweight fees can be found on the airlines's website, Air Asia is the most expensive one. One thing missing above: tickets can also be priced differently because miles are given only 50% or none at all. Of course this is no big concern for flights within Thailand.
