It's a sad day folk's but it looks like the time has come that I have to go do some of that w-w-w-work stuff. Can't complain, I have had one heck of a long holiday
I have applied for several jobs in Dubai and I was wondering if at some point in the future the missus wanted to join me how easy this would be for her to get a visa.
Could she find gainful employment, perhaps as a nanny or something along those lines? She speaks good English so would be more than capable of working for a Western family. If so, what would be the average wage for such a job?
Are there many Thai ladies in Dubai? We all know how they miss their own.
I think there are several members working in the Middle East and I would welcome any input from those in the know.
Taking TW/TG to Dubai?

I used to work in Abu Dhabi, where there is big Thai community,as there is in Dubai. I understand that Thai people can enter the Emirates on a three month visa, but have to leave after that. Once you are working there you will get a residency visa after a few months. You could then take your other half there on your visa, but you will need to be married. Best of luck with the job hunt.

Roy, Thais require a 'sponsor' to obtain a visa to enter Dubai. This sponsor can either be a company offering employment, a company offering a 'business' visit or an individual applying for his wife to come to live with him. If you get the latter visa she can not work.
However, if you are going their first, you my well be able to find employment for her and have the employer sponsor her.
If you wish to be more specific PM me.
