I have unfortunately had to book & pay this price as the only date that suited my needs was down to the last 1 seat on the BKK-AUH sector,and last 3 seats on the AUH-MAN Leg......Only other options were BA,Qantas & Thai ( Only to London on Thai ) and they ALL wanted between 52,000 & 58,000 Baht 
Its a sorry state of affairs & I am NOT Joking 
B.M I HAVE NOT booked 2 single tickets,I have bought a RETURN,But this year Ethiad have SCRAPPED Their 3 & 6 Month tickets and made them YEARLY Tickets BUT have also INCREASED the price for this service,I could NOT book a RETURN ticket from the U.K as I always bookm a return ticket from Bangers,SO I would have a ticket spare if you see what I mean ???beer monkey wrote:Why Did'nt/don't you just book a return ticket in uk thats valid for your 7 month trip 747, surely it is cheaper that way than buying two singles .....??

A mate of mine booked in December with Etihad for a return trip Manchester/Bangkok staying over here last month.
He paid 478 quid return which was about 31500 baht at the exchange rate then.
So 41000 baht plus is 30% more than what he paid !
I know the fuel has gone up but thats ridiculous.......maybe because it was a last minute booking and you needed a specific date ?
And London is no real alternative if your flying up north......stuck in the dreary domestic departure lounge at Heathrow for 2 hours,after an 11 hour flight,is all you need !

Bamboo, Yes I did think about it BUT NO Flights HKG-MAN,Only Heathrow & Gatwick So that was a No Brainer,Plus it worked more expensive Even using the CHEAP carrier ( Oasis Airlines ) from HKG-LGW By the time you ADD on the fares from BKK-HKG Then the fare LGW-MAN....It sort of works IF you live in South of England...But thanks Anyway....bamboopaul wrote:Instead of going from Bangkok, why not fly from Hong Kong, just a thought ...........
